Cheese on the shelf!

These are the small cheeses which are lying on the shelf to ripe.....

Last week we have made cheeses at school and I think some are looking a little odd.... In the back (see the photo) is a very big one, much too thick, the teacher says that there is too much gas, in it. Still another one looks like it’s falling to pieces... only one or two are looking rather nice the ones with cloves in it. The teacher says that we will see what comes out…….

After school Mark and I had class service and we had to clean up the entire classroom. Clean the black board and sweep the floor. After cleaning we went to Mark’s place just to play a little Habbo on the internet. Not for long because I had to be home by 4.30 PM because I had learn my topography which were having on Friday.

I’ll now stop because I go and write a little bit of my new essay Amsterdam …. bye … see you tomorrow!

Snow in Spain!

All snow on the TV....

I was just watching TV... its bad weather almost everywhere....
In Poland this weekend a roof has collapsed by the weight of the snow of an enormous building. It was an exhibition hall where at that moment was a pigeon event.

Today the weather woman on TV said that it’s snowing in Spain, in the south of Spain! Even in Portugal it’s snowing, there they haven’t had snow in the last 50 years! Over here it’s not so cold now, but they expect that it after the weekend will become much colder, and then we’ll get the cold over all the way from Russia ... bbbrrrrr...... pitiful for Timmie.....

Jaap Stam

Wooouuuww... that’s cool.... Tonight was also on the news that Jaap Stam (soccer player) returns to the Netherlands. He plays soccer now at AC Milan but he comes back in the summer to play for Ajax (my team!) He is not coming to PSV or Heerenveen as everyone thought... but to Ajax... that’s so cool man!

Go upstairs ... bye … see you tomorrow!

Boring day!

Settlers of Catan.....

This morning I slept pretty long and afterwards I have just been at the internet to play Habbo hotel.
Later in the afternoon I have worked on my homework, firstly I did my Raak (=spelling), which is pretty difficult all words ending at dde, tte, or d or t. Sometimes I can’t find the answers of the rules we’ve learned ..….. But I believe that I have made it reasonable good.

Afterwards I did my topography I will get next Friday…..... Yes ... with the lake of Geneva what had to be the lake of Zurich…... mistake in the topography paper. There was mentioned the Lake of Geneva but there was no marking on the paper on that spot and at the Lake of Zurich there was a spot on the paper…..stupid he? So now we have to learn the Lake of Zurich instead of the Lake of Geneva because that isn’t on the map….

Late in the afternoon I was bored … nothing to do …. So I asked Marijke the neighbor if she wanted to do a game of Settlers of Catan. She always likes to play a game. Mom also participated and then the three of us played a game. Of course I won that game!

Go to bed…. bye …see you tomorrow!

Shopping day!

Make your self an ice-cream at Ikea...

This afternoon we went shopping …. Firstly we had to buy food for Timmie at the garden centre. There we saw as a matter of fact a beautiful poultry house!

You see it’s this way… At Dad’s work there is since a couple of months a chicken that comes by every day to get some food and it seems that he is planning to stay longer because he is knocking on the door every morning. So there are plans to build a home for the chicken. There is that man at Dad’s work who wants to build a home for him so they need a picture to see how it must be like. So Mom made a photo of the ‘new chicken home’. (Was my idea, just want to help the chicken!)

After the garden centre we have been to Ikea. Mom wants new curtains for in the kitchen.... but they had nothing which she liked. However, they have delicious hotdogs with a glass of soda for only €1, - ($1, 21) and so great you can’t believe it! Afterwards I have made myself an ice-cream at the ice-cream machine. Your put your cornet in the thing, press on a button and than the ice-cream comes automatically out of the ice-cream machine. Granddad taught me to finish the ice-cream and leave the cornet in tact, don’t break it, so you can fill it up again at the ice-cream machine. So I did it again this afternoon it’s so cool to do, and then you see people look at you as if they see water burning! I don’t care … there is no sign that it is not allowed to do! The second one always tastes better!

After Ikea we went to see Femke and Ruud just to hear how Femke’s mother is doing. She had an operation last week, but now she is feeling much better.

Wooooohhh... it is already terrible late... I go upstairs bye ... see you tomorrow!

Cool music lessons!

Thijs and me on the drums.....

This morning at school the little cheeses had a brine dip. Firstly on one side and then 3 hours later they had to be turned and put on the other side. Now they are on a shelf to dry. Tomorrow the teacher must go to school (yes.... on Saturday) to turn the little cheeses and put them on the other side. Sunday will teacher Ria go to school and turn them again.
I'm quite curious how they look like when we go to school next Monday!

Tonight I had extra long music lessons. Before the lesson started, the people who play the drums had their coffee break and they let us play on their drums, that was so cool man!
We just beat the drums very loud!
At 7 o'clock the common lesson started with all 7 children together, for 45 minutes we played nicely together. After the break we played still a small hour with all the adults, then their were 15 off us, that’s a lot isn’t it? That sounded quite nicely, just like a big real orchestra! On March 19th there will be a performance in the rural house..... wooouuuhhh.... that's very exciting! It was great evening....................

I go and play with Timmie.... bye …. see you tomorrow!

Great day at school!

Made on the creative-afternoon... the little Dad man..

Today we have done many nice things. This morning at 10 the teacher said that today we were going to make Dutch cheese. Everyone had to do something. At first Mark and I had to warm the 7 1/2 liters (2 gallons) of milk in a big pan up to 29 1/2 degrees (84,2 F). Then the milk was poured in a barrel and buttermilk and rennet was added. After that the milk had to rest for half an hour.

That was all before the afternoon lunch break. Only I had to be back at school 15 minutes earlier this afternoon because I had to get the milk out of the barrel at exact 12.45 hours.

The mass which remained was done by the others in small buckets and then it was put under a press.

Our teacher will be very busy tonight with all the cheeses, they must be reversed many times tonight. Tomorrow the little cheeses must still have a brine dip and then they have to ripe, which lasts 12 days. After that we’ll get it home, everyone gets 1/3 of the little cheese to take home. My cheese is with spices, ooohhhh… it’s so exciting I hope it will be tasty!

This afternoon we had our creative afternoon and I was in the group who made the little wood man. I made a very large man, everyone made a small one like the teacher said we had to do, I like everything big! It became a very nice man, I call it the little Dad man!

Now I’ll put Timmie in the barn because it will be very cold this night -7 degrees (20 F) that’s quite cold for him.... Bye …. See you tomorrow!

Present for Dad!

Big box for Dad!

This morning when school was finished I went home and there I found a big box on the dinning table. Mom said that they brought it with a special car this morning. However, I had been in fact terribly curios what would be in the box, but it was for Dad therefore could I not open it.... to bad…....

This afternoon I have been with Mark to the shops in our village and I bought a present for Dad.... a 1st aid kit for the car, start cables, trailing rope and much more all in a beautiful case. Dad was very happy with it!
Then Dad and I opened the big box what was delivered this morning. In this was a very large balloon with in it all small balloons and a present. Dad did not want to break the balloon it was so beautiful so for this reason he left it this way.

Tonight Dad started to play with the big balloon and suddenly it fell on the ground and immediately said bangggg... All little pieces of the paper which were inside the balloon went through the entire living room ... the complete room was filled with the little pieces of paper and it was a party in the room! Now he immediately had his present which was inside the balloon, it was a beautiful book!

Tonight we had a lovely home made Indonesian dinner, with our neighbors, by Mom… all nice little bites…. I love them!

Now I go upstairs it’s late … see you tomorrow!

Today Dad's birthday!

Today Januari 25th Dad's birthday!
Happy birthday Dad!

School bowling!

Saskia of the bowling club explains….....

This afternoon after school we immediately went to the bowling. At half passed 3 we started throwing the first balls and the counting machines were already working. It went great and I thought that it had already started but after 10 minutes Saskia (she is from my bowling club) stopped us and started to explain how it all works and then it became clear to us that the game wasn’t began yet … Now I wasn’t happy… I just had 1 spare and 2 strikes after an other… and all for nothing!

I didn’t play bad but it is not clear yet if my team (Patrick, Franka and I) will go to the finals in Rijswijk. They must count all the scores together and then they will let the school know which teams are going to the finals. Oooohh...... I hope so were going! We had a nice score, Patrick played pretty good and also came above the 100 points! We’ll have to wait and see…..

Now I go to Timmie (the rabbit, who lives outside in the garden), have to put him and his hutch in the barn because of the cold. They said it will be very cold tonight and in the barn the temperature is much nicer than outside. I think it’s pitifully he can’t stay inside the house, that would be to warm for him and he would immediately die he is so used to the cold outside. It’s too bad that that isn’t possible …

Bye …. see you tomorrow!

No electricity!

Nuon cars in the street....

This afternoon when school went out I agreed with Mark that we would go on Habbo Hotel on the Internet together each from our own house. When I walked home I already saw it…. 2 Nuon cars in the street….Oooh no.... gone was my Habbo afternoon on the Internet! And yes I was right.... no electricity in the entire house. I thought I was smart when I took Mom’s laptop that thing doesn’t need electricity! Wrong! Yes the laptop worked but not the Internet… for that you need again electricity! Baaahhh….. that was so annoying! Just at half passed 4 the electricity came back, I had exact 10 minutes left for Habbo on the Internet before I had to go to the Bowling…. That was so annoying!

Tonight I practiced for the school bowling what’s tomorrow! I’m really looking forward to that! Now I go upstairs.... bye ….. see you tomorrow!

Fokker 100!

Nice isn’t it…... got it from Jos!

This afternoon we went to visit Joke and Jos in Amsterdam North. When we were there Jos gave me a present … a great airplane the Fokker 100! That is so cool man! Jos is even crazier of airplanes than me … he has got so many airplanes you could only dream of! I don’t have quite as much as he does, but I also love them very much. I’m so happy with the one he got for me it’s a great typ! I also got a few nice airplane magazines, named Pilot and airplane.

Jos told me he has never been to the Aviodrome, how is that possible if you like airplanes that much? We went last year to the Aviodrome. It’s so cool there, there are lots of airplanes and in some of them you can go in and take a seat behind the steering wheel, that’s so cool man!

I go to bed now, it’s extremely late ….. Bye … see you tomorrow!

Lost whale dies after rescue bid!

Rescue workers busy saving the whale...

This morning I have been to the bowling for the championship of our club. That did not turn out as good as I expected... The first 2 games I played reasonable good but the third game I spoiled everything! It did not go very well I simply didn’t have my day..... There also was a coach who came and stood beside me and told me every 2 seconds what I did wrong, I couldn’t throw any ball anymore… When he disappeared the last few minutes I immediately threw 2 strikes and 1 spare… It doesn’t matter next time better……

Tonight I searched the Internet to see how the whale in the Thames was doing and read that he is dead.... aaaiii that’s so sad...

They were already frightened that he would not survive it. The animal succumbed to its wounds and to stress. They had already doubts if the whale would survive it. This afternoon they have tried to bring back the whale to the North Sea. Rescue workers put the animal on a pontoon. The pontoon would arrive at approximately 10 o’clock tonight at the end of the Thames... but unfortunately...... The Whale....., he came, saw and lost....

Now I go upstairs to sleep.... am not feeling very well... tonight I turned sick had to threw up twice.... bahhh... bye…. see you tomorrow!

Whale in the Thames!

Five meters (16-18ft) northern bottle-nosed whale, all the way in central London near the Houses of Parliament....

This afternoon I saw on TV that there is in the London a whale in the Thames. The bottle-nosed whales are a type who only occurs spoken normally in the deep water of the Atlantic Ocean. Someone from the zoo of London said that it is very rare that he is now here. "He is terrible far from home and I have no idea how the animal has come in the Thames" he said. See also the BBC
They have tried to push back the animal in the direction of the sea but that has failed.... Their watching him well, but if they really have to rescue him that will be a big problem because of his weight, he weights about 7 tonnes, .... That’s heavy he? I think this whole situation is so sad! I’ll hope he survives…..

Tomorrow... I'm really looking forward to tomorrow, then is the championships of our bowling club! Must be participating tomorrow at half passed 8 at the bowling to play that championship... exciting!

I go upstairs ... bye … see you tomorrow!

Nice food from Mr. Wong...

This morning at school I got my essay back from the teacher, and what do you think? I got a 9 (a-)! Oh... I was so happy with that good mark! The last weeks before I had to hand it in I didn’t have time to work on it. During the holidays we weren’t home much we were or in the hospital or at Grandpa’s in Purmerend. The last week I have been working on it almost every day, to get it finished and I succeeded just in time. And now it all turns out in a beautiful mark!

Late in the afternoon Grandpa and Grandma came over to say goodbye, tomorrow their going on holiday to Tenerife, nicely to the sun!
Tonight Dad went to Mr. Wong and got a lovely Chinese menu. So we all had dinner together, ooohhh…. it was so delicious and nice, I love Chinese food.

But now I go to bed ... it's already terrible late... bye... see you tomorrow!

History paper!

1584- 1625 period in which Maurits was stadtholder

This afternoon I was busy for several hours studying my history paper.
I had to learn the dates of important periods, people or events. That wasn’t easy… It is very very difficult to remember all those seniors from 15 something till 16 something and what they have done, that’s so hard to get that into my head, it looked almost impossible….

1619 dead of Oldenbarnevelt

Johan van Oldenbarnevelt said: This what’s important, men has to live exactly such as is written in the bible! Oldenbarnevelt belonged to the "rekkelijken".

1555 Karel V resigned and his zoon Phillips II succeed him.

1600 Battle at Newport. That is the easiest of them all.

1517 Luther nails 95 propositions on the church door.

1625 - 1647 period in which Frederik Hendrik was the stadtholder
1637 translation of the bible
1648 peace of Munster

And a lot more dates …... I did not get it into my head, it went wrong every time Mom tested me... Then we did a bet. I was very sure when I would read and read the dates all over again and again for about half an hour I could remember all of them. Mom wasn’t so sure about that. Then I said that I would get €2,= if I all did them well, Mom agreed only if she got €2,= if I got it wrong. I agreed! So we did the bet…And..yes I got them all right and won €2,= well done eehh?

I go upstairs … bye… see you tomorrow!

HSL.... zoefff.....

The High-Speed Line direction Belgium was tested today! It drove 206 km per hour!

Today on school we had the tryout Cito toets (test), three days after another we’ll get the test just like the real one which we will get next year in group 8 (the last year primary school). I liked it, it was fun to do, but that of course was because it was arithmetic that I always like…. That is almost always nice to do. So after today we get 2 more days of Cito tests…....

This afternoon on TV I saw that they tested the High Speed Line (HSL). That train goes fast man! More than 200 km per hour..... zoefff.....and gone it is .....
This train will go from Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Breda to Brussels in 2007 and later on to Paris. Then he will go more than 300 km per hour..... That’s fast isn’t it?

I am crazy on trains. Upstairs at the attic I’ve got a small train, a real Marklin. On that track I have 2 trains driving, they can also drive at the same time, which is possible because it is a digital train. I like looking at the internet site of totaltain, which has been made by our neighbor boy for totaltrain.

I go to bed.... bye ... see you tomorrow!

Refrigerators and more refrigerators...

In New Orleans they are clearing all the refrigerators!

Today at school the teacher has put the address of my blogspot on the black board, eeehhhhh…..now I really have to be careful what I’m writing here...uuuccchhh…But it really is nice, everyone whom is reading this please give a comment on the Dutch version!!

Today I worked with mark on a book which we are making at school. It’s called the monster of blood! Mark is now busy by making the front and I’m doing the second page. It becomes nice but now we have to start making the story.... that is more difficult but quite cool to do.

This evening I went to the bowling and played with my team for the points. My score was the highest of my team, I really threw like a javelin! Oh it’s just such a cool game!

I just watched the news on TV, which was so disgusting! In New Orleans they are cleaning up all the houses which have been suffering from the hurricane Katrina a couple of months ago. The most disgusting job is collecting all the refrigerators, all of those are still full with food! Those people who are collecting those refrigerators are wearing gasmasks against the awful smell and even then the smell is horrible! Above on the picture a place in the middle of nowhere where they dump all of those refrigerators, make them empty and afterwards they are going to be recycled. They collected now already 172,000 refrigerators..... baaaccchhhh.... so dirty man!

I go upstairs… jeh…... its bedtime ….bye… see you tomorrow!

Jelle Klaasen wins the Lakeside!

8.57 PM Jelle Klaasen wins the lakeside with 7 - 5 of Raymond van Barneveld!

I couldn’t wait till tonight and the final darts would come on TV. They had said that it would start 6.00 PM but there was a complete preliminary film till 7.15. It started eventually just a quarter passed seven. It was a very exiting game till the very last moment!
I think it’s quite smart, this boy only just plays 4 years darts and is only 21 years old. How is it possible he wins the Lakeside it’s unbelievable! So great!

It’s already very late, I must go to bed now ….. bye … see you tomorrow!

We brought Koen his present!

First time birthday cake!

This morning after the bowling-training we went to Purmerend to bring Koen his birthday present... We bought him a couple of small boats for the aquaplay. He liked the boats directly and started to play immediately. He did not yet understand the rocking-cow, just wait until he does understand it, then he never wants to get off ever!
There were a lot of small children, I played with them in the other room very nicely..... Yes, you must explain a little to them how everything works, is that so? It was a nice afternoon....

Now I'm going to bed .... I'm awful tired ... bye .... see you tomorrow!

Today Koen's birthdag!

Today Januari 14th Koen's birthday! It's his first birthday!
Happy birthday Koen!

I’ll just come over to bring you your birthday present, I also bring the rocking cow, see you later!

Friday the 13th!

Main street in our village...

Got up this morning and I just had to think ….oh... yes…. it’s Friday 13th today!
Today I had to hand in my essay about America... No way…. I did that yesterday…, I won’t hand that in on Friday 13th.... no doubt about that … I’m not crazy … if I’ll do that I maybe get a bad mark., no way!

There are people who won’t leave the house on Friday 13e, they remain at home and wait till it is the next day. So I’ve heard that in hotels mostly room number 13 doesn’t exist, often the numbers go from 12 over to 14, they simply skip room number 13! The same is it in airplanes, seats number 13 mostly does not exist.
For some people the number 13 is their lucky number and they always take that number deliberately as often if possible.

I’ll just go out on Friday 13th and don’t give it much attention ….. So we went out this afternoon to the village.....to buy Koen my cousin a present, it’s his birthday tomorrow! He’ll be 1 year, his first birthday! So, Koen we have bought you something beautiful ….. oohhh …. no... I do not say it jet, because then it isn’t a surprise anymore! You’ll get it tomorrow!

I’ll have to stop now, must go to my trumpet lessons bye…. See you tomorrow!

Crises in the House of Representatives!

Members of Parliament very angry!

Today I had school again and we had gym, kickball that’s so cool man! For lunch I went home and had a nice toasty ham and cheese with Mom, oooohhh that tasted pretty good!

Back at school this afternoon we had our creative afternoon and I made a nail piece of art. I did nails with a hammer in a piece of wood, very close to each other. After that I took a thread and made figures with that thread around the nails, it became beautiful.
When school was out I went home with Mark to make our homework the dictation for tomorrow and French for next week.

At the 6 o'clock news on TV they were talking about the crises, the possibility of the fall of the government, it’s not going very well there in The Hague.
The NATO wants the Netherlands to send more soldiers to Afghanistan, (there are already 700 Dutch soldiers in Afghanistan!) but The Hague can’t decide what to do. It is there where those 1200 up to 1400 Dutch soldiers have to go very dangerous at the moment. The House of Representatives of the Dutch parliament says that they will think about it if the Americans can guarantee that it will be safe enough so the soldiers can go there safely.
Member of Parliament D66(party) Bert baker says that if the House of Representatives nevertheless send those 1200 soldiers to Afghanistan then it will be the end of the government with Prime minister Balkenende. So they are arguing about that all day.... We’ll see what comes out of it.......

I go upstairs and will read in my Spooky book.... Bye see you tomorrow!

Americans at the Maeslantkering!

Prince Willem Alexander (our Crown Prince of the Netherlands) with 50 Americans examines our weirs (dams).

Today was a quiet day at school. However, we had a new teacher, teacher Tirza, she will give the lessons on Wednesdays, the rest of the week we still have our teacher Jelka.

After lunch we went to the bowling, because Dad is still free from work. I must practise for the school tournament what will start on January 24 th. I did not have my day today, it didn’t go very nicely... next time better!

Tonight I watched the news on TV and saw our Prince Willem Alexander. He was today with 50 Americans (also water management people just like prince Willem Alexander) at the Maeslantkering at Hoek van Holland.

These Americans wanted to know more about the Dutch struggle against water as a result of the hurricanes Katrina and Rita which caused large damage in the state Louisiana.
Also American people from a few companies traveled with the water management people, to see how the Dutch handle the water problems.
A solution for New Orleans would be building a dam such as our Delta Works, but that will cost the Americans 80 billion dollar. Building the Delta Works in the Netherlands took 40 years and was completed by the Maeslantkering in 1997.

According to the prince, the Netherlands and Louisiana are much alike. Both the countries have a density of people and are below sea level. “But there is another climate in Louisiana. A wave of ten meters is something else then a northwestern storm at the North Sea", thus the Prince.
Funny to see, that so many American people came all the way to the Netherlands to see how we solve the water problems over here.

I go to bed.... bye see you tomorrow!

Dad is helping me ….....

It’s clear that the holidays are over. I have got a package of homework from school, you won’t believe it! So I have been busy doing my homework the entire afternoon. I started doing the last part of my essay, America…...., pppphhhfff..... Was still much work typing and printing the last part of it, but now it is finished at last!

Afterwards I have done my Topography, all those places in Germany... yes.... that row the real German drinks his beer cold isn’t difficult this way, but the rest is.

More homework to go …. I still have to study for my dictation on Friday, French for Tuesday and next Friday a history test........... Still have a lot to do!
I’ll stop now, Dad and I going to do a piece of the puzzle, perhaps we will finish it tonight..... bye…. See you tomorrow!

Back to school!

New Topography for next week, Germany!

This morning it was a bit strange to get up early and go to school after the long holidays. We had to work hard again. We had arithmetic and had to prepare the new Topography. So, that is difficult!
Germany with all strange names, such as Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Leipzig, funny name it is (leip in Dutch is crazy, idiot) and lot of other city names. The teacher gave us also a little joke to remember a little part of the topography.... a few cities are situated on a row. De (The) echte (real) Duister (German) drinkt (drinks) koud (cold) bier (beer)...... Dortmund, Essen, Duisburg, Düsseldorf, Keulen and Bonn.... nice isn’t it?

After school we have been to the library to obtain new books for my new essay.... Amsterdam! They had a lot of books about Amsterdam much more then they had about my last essay America.

This evening I have been to the bowling to play my leagues. I have thrown beautiful games with my new ball.
But now I go to bed... bye … see you tomorrow!

Quiet day....

Puzzle which I have got for Christmas......

This afternoon I went to Mark to play together. We have done a 3D puzzle firstly but it was really to difficult to do... Afterwards we played tennis against a small wall. That was quite nicely!
Late in the afternoon I have done something on my homework... there was no time for that these last few weeks, spelling, d or t's.... so that is rather difficulty!

Afterwards I have finished my essay in the draft.... . now I must still do a little piece on the computer. Later on after dinner I have done a small part of my puzzle, it does go pretty well, nice work isn’t it? You can see the houses pretty good! It is a very cool puzzle….....

Now I go upstairs then I can read in my book.... the griezelbus (the spooky bus).... bye …see you tomorrow!

That's a lot of bottles!

Glass container in our village...

I woke up late this morning…. slept till a quarter passed 9.
Later this morning I logged in at Habbo and chatted with Mark and some other friends at the Habbo Hotel.

In the afternoon we went shopping here in our village. When we went to the Supermarket Albert Heijn I passed a glass container which was so full of empty bottles that everyone had to put them beside the container. What a lot of bottles, you can see that the holidays are behind us and everyone did get rid of the garbage……They all had a lot to drink!

Tonight I made a big piece of my new puzzle I got for Christmas, did not have a lot of time to do that, last weeks were pretty busy….. That new puzzle is quit fun!
I also worked on my essay this afternoon, we must hand that in on Friday. I’ll hope I get that finished, we have not been home that much lately so there wasn’t much time for that…. hope I’ll get it finished ….

Now I will play with Timmie for awhile ... bye…see you tomorrow!

Bye dear “little” Grandma…..

The Church book we made, it’s the farewell book for Grandma. I made the front of the book, I made Grandma’s rose.

Today at half passed 10 we left for Purmerend for the funeral house where Grandma was. Then we have closed the coffin of Grandma with the complete family. Afterwards I have helped to carry the coffin to the car and all the flowers. Then we went into 4 follow cars to the church.

In church we, Mark, Annette, Nienke, Sidney and I lighted the 6 the candles which stood around Grandma’s coffin. It was a beautiful Mass...
Afterwards we went back in the follow cars and have gone to the funeral place. There we said good-bye to Grandma for the last time…, they played Grandma’s favorite music … sailing home......

Then we went to Grandpa’s house and then came along Koen my cousin, it is such a nice child! I played so nice with him again ….....
On our way home we stopped by to have some dinner at Mr. Wong (the Chinese restaurant here in town), it was ever so nice as always!
Now I go to bed, it’s late already…...... bye … see you tomorrow!

Flowers for Grandma!

My flower piece for Grandma.

This afternoon we went to Amsterdam to buy flowers for the flower piece which I would make for Grandma. When we told the girls in the flower shop that I myself wanted to make a flower piece for my Grandma’s funeral they immediately were in. They helped me with selecting the flowers. We got some green stuff for free and also got I a mourning branch holder for the flowers so I would be able to carry the flower piece by the handle. At home I immediately started by putting in the flowers..... Doesn’t it look beautiful? After dinner we have been to the funeral house to say farewell to Grandma. She got a lot of flowers, all very pretty... everyone liked mine quite well!

But now I go to bed, tomorrow is a busy day... bye ...see you morning!

Training for the school bowling

This is our school bowling team.

In the afternoon we went to the bowling with a couple children who are in the school bowling team to practise. We played for one hour and after that they decided to book an other hour … It was so great to throw that bowling ball after a couple of days of hard work that we did for the memorial service next Friday.

Tomorrow we go buy flowers from which I will make a beautiful floral tribute to put on Grandma’s coffin tomorrow evening when we will say farewell to her. I already know exactly which flowers I want for the flower piece, roses, Grandma loved roses!

I go and play with Timmie for awhile…. bye… see you tomorrow!

Making everything ready for church!

My cousin Koen!

Today we were all day in Purmerend at Grandpa’s to prepare everything for church, for the Mass on Friday. My cousin Koen was also there today.... he is a nice cute little boy! We played for a long time on the floor in the living room ... I liked it playing with him..... he also I believe. He had a battery of cups that you can built a tower with, mom said immediately I had that when I was little and I played with those cups for hours....

In the morning the Pastor came along to tell us what’s the procedure for the Mass on Friday, what’s possible and what’s not.
When she left we all together had to make a funeral book in which stands what the songs and the text for the farewell services will be, so all the people in church can sing along and can read the bible stories. I was asked to make the front of the book, so I decided to make a beautiful drawing but Grandpa didn’t have any color pencils in the house.
So I then went out with an uncle and an aunt to get some sandwiches and obtain then for some color pencils.
After we got home again I made a beautiful drawing and this drawing will appear on the front side of the book! Mom and Uncle John obtained to type all the texts of the farewell services in on their laptops, it all looked like a PC centre in Grandpa’s kitchen, 2 of those computers beside each other with a big pile of paper there beside it!
Later on Uncle John has put it all together on Grandpa’s PC and made it all complete till it was a nice book. It has become a beautiful book! Everything is now sent to the printer shop and there they will duplicate it into all the books we need.

We just got home (almost 10.30PM) I’m pretty tired... go to bed now I’ll have to go to the bowling tomorrow and do some training for the schools competition wich is in a few weeks …..bye... see you tomorrow!

Affix the stamps....

Affixing the stamps on the funeral cards…..

This morning at 11 o‘clock we left home to go to Grandpa in Purmerend to help collecting all addresses of people who must get a funeral card.
In the afternoon we went to the Funeral Company to collect the funeral cards and did them in the envelopes and affixed the stamps on it. It was a very big pile of cards, when we were finished they had to be taken rapidly to the post office so that everyone gets the card by tomorrow.

After that we went to the Mediamarkt to buy a music CD that is necessary at the funeral of Grandma on Friday. Happily they sold the CD that we were looking for and we could go home pretty fast after that.

I go to bed now, have to get up early tomorrow because the priest will come to Granddad to talk over the Mass in Church on Friday … bye… see you tomorrow!

Bye Grandma Corrie.......

Yesterday evening at 8.30 we were called that Grandma Corrie had passed away in her sleep......

Bye dear Grandma.... sleep well..... farewell.........

Lighting fireworks!

Yesterday evening when we were watching TV aunt Lidy called that the hospital called her just now that Grandma Corrie had passed away 5 minutes ago …... immediately afterwards I went to Piet and Marijke's, so Mom and Dad could go to the hospital to say farewell to Grandma in the hospital in Purmerend...

I stayed and Piet and Marijk’s all evening and played games of Poker and I was the bank and to care of all the money.

Just before 12 o’clock Mom and Dad returned home from the hospital so Dad and I could nevertheless still lighten some fireworks. However, it was a very crazy evening....

Dear Grandma Corrie.... I’ll be missing you….........
