Sporting day and Summer party!

Our Dream-team, Gaandeweg /Kinheim school with the trophy we just won.....

This morning we left early to the Haarlemmermeerse forest with the groups 7 and 8 from our school to have a sporting day with other schools, so we all wanted to win the Haarlemmermeerse 1st price, a very big trophy! I was in a team with a couple children from my class and a couple children from group 8 and Dad was our coach.

Ashlyn to the ball in the hockey game....

We won all the games from baseball to handball and football except for the game 4 man on 2 skies. It went so cool man! We really had a dream team, everything went so well!

All of us ski-walking..... At the end of the day we got the first price (of the 25 teams from the Haarlemmermeer) really so great man! After that we went to the Summer party at the school yard. There it was already very busy. You could do all sorts of games and there were children who participated to a playback show. There also was a lot of nice food..... The party was very cool this year.........

Nice dinner!

Dinner outside in the garden .........

Tonight we had dinner outside in the garden sitting on our new garden seats. Mom made a very fine dish of aubergines, almost just like we had in France at Domaine de Beauvoir at Ria and Stan‘s. It was delicious! Then Mom wanted to make a photograph of me because I was so much enjoying my food, that it was worth a photo she said. But that did not succeed very well, I made funny faces at her all the time. So after a while we both were laughing of the funny situation and we could not stop laughing anymore...

The weather is still very nice so I go and play outside for a while........bye... see you tomorrow!

Football shoes?

Football shoes... where do I obtain them?

Today the teacher told us that the sporting day on Friday June 30th will go through. So it will be a very busy day Friday! Friday morning we go with our group (grade) 7 and 8 from my school to the Amsterdam Forrest and there we will have our sporting day together with a lot of other schools.

When we return from the Amsterdam Forest in the afternoon immediately will start the Summer school party at the school yard. You can do there all sorts of games and there will be nice food and lots of other nice things to do. The Summer party is the nicest, greatest, coolest party of the year!

Then in the evening I must go to my trumpet lessons and at 7.30 PM we must go to an explanation evening concerning the trumpet lessons for next year. That will become a very busy day!

Today the teacher told us that we Friday on the sporting day have to wear football shoes and ankle guards..... That is quite a pity but those I have not. Mom said she is not willing to buy them for me because it’s just for one day. And what is an ankle guard? No idea... So I will wear my normal shoes on Friday, what else should I do?

Go upstairs ... Bye... see you tomorrow!

Working hard, then ice-cream!

The Artis essay....

This afternoon after school I immediately started doing my homework..... Had to type all the texts in the computer. I typed all afternoon, but at last it’s almost finished.

When I was finished doing my homework I went to the snack bar to get an ice-cream. Ooohhh.... it was a very nice ice-cream.
Thanks Ria and Stan!

It wasn’t as big as the one here on the picture above, but it looked quite a lot like it! Mmmmmm.... soft ice-cream is so great!!!!!!

No more Orange today......

Edwin van der Sar is crying......

Today was quite a strange day..... Everyone was angry about the football match of The Netherlands yesterday and that they lost the game. That all because of that referee in that game who was only throwing cards. Nobody knows exactly how many cards there were, was it 16 or 18 yellow? However, everybody knows how many reds there were......

Everyone is crying......

This afternoon at school we had to remove all the orange things, all the flags, caps and hats. It’s so deadly dull now in our classroom...... ....

In the shops there was a big sale today of all the orange things, no more Wuppies, everything has been removed!

The Orange team will come home tonight.... Just now was on the TV that only about 50 people are waiting for the team to arrive at Schiphol-airport, which is not very much..... , that is rather pitiful in fact...

Go to bed...... Bye... See you tomorrow!

Portugal - the Netherlands 1 - 0 !

Goal Portugal.......

The Netherlands lost the game and is now out of the tournament!

Tonight Portugal - the Netherlands!

Dirkt Kuyt instead of Ruud van Nistelrooy....

Today it rained almost the entire day....bahhhh.... But tonight is the football match Portugal - the Netherlands! On Internet, the newspaper the telegraph said that Bonds coach Marco van Basten the game against Portugal starts with Dirk Kuyt in the front.

In the goal Edwin van der Sar. Defenders Bouhlarouz, Ooijer, Mathijssen and Van Bronckhorst. On the middle starts Van Bommel with Sneijder and Cocu. In the front will play Van Persie, Kuyt and Robben.

Oh I can’t wait till the match starts...... ooooooohhhhh.... so exciting! In Nuremberg it is already one big party, everything is orange collared at the market square in Nuremberg.

Go upstairs and take a bath and after that I’m going to watch the match. Bye ...see you tomorrow!

New garden chairs!

Waiting for Dad at the Makro.

This afternoon we went to the garden-centre Het Oosten in Aalsmeer. That is a very large garden centre! There we searched for new garden chairs ….. man they were expensive there, that wasn’t normal at all!

After that we have been to the Makro (Metro) in Duivendrecht. Dad had seen there a very nice pair of chairs. Fortunately they were still there, but just 6 of them. We only needed 4 of them but that wasn’t possible to take with us just right now, it wouldn’t fit into our car….... Dad said that we could buy 2 now and that he would buy the other 2 next Monday. Mom said that she wasn’t happy about that. She was afraid that if we waited till Monday that they probably run out of chairs by then. So we decided to buy all 4 of them now and that we would see how many would fit in the car and then Mom and I would wait with the other chairs for Dad when he brought the others home. So we did. 3 chairs fitted in the car, so Mom and I stayed behind with one chair in the car park of the Makro.

However, we had one chair to sit on… We could change, firstly Mom sat on the chair and after a while it was my turn to sit. People on the street responded more then ones…. It looked a bit strange ….. Then there was someone who came along and said "trying out yet?” or another one said ”is it nice?” But we thought it was rather fun! After less then an hour, Dad returned and we put the last chair in the car and Mom and I went in as well.

Immediately after we got home we had to try out the new chairs…. They are really nice!

Go to bed….bye …see you tomorrow!

Aunt Suze is back home again!

Aunt Suze is back in Canada.....

This afternoon after school I have been to the library. At school I’m busy writing a new essay about Artis and the book which I needed was not available in our library here in our village. So they had to order that out at another village, Hoofddorp about 7 miles from here.

The library here in our village......

At the beginning of the week I already received a letter from the library which said the the Artis book had arrived here in our library, so I picked it up this afternoon.

The book of Artis.....

So.. now I can go on writing my essay about Artis........

Tonight when I was at my trumpet-lessons aunt Suze called and said that she was safe and sound back in Canada. I regret that, I love those nice dinners, especially when I can make the first course!
Come back soon aunt Suze!

Go to bed.... Bye...see you tomorrow!

Yes, another Dutch man!

New football sticker of Dirk Kuyt (Right side at the top)....

This afternoon after school I went to our village centre to buy a new refill for my pen and some football stickers. Those football stickers are so cool man! You buy them in a package and you have to stick them into a special football World Cup album.

The World Cup album....

I have already quite a lot of those stickers, I have a few from each country. Today I got 2 Dutch ones in the new package I bought, one of them was Dirk Kuyt, you can see it on the photograph right above! Mark and I exchange frequently our double ones.

Go to bed.... Bye... See you tomorrow!

Aunt Suze is here!

Nice dinner all together.....

This afternoon after school mom and I went to grandma and granddad because aunt Suze from Canada was there and so we went over just to say hello.

Tonight we all had dinner at our home and that was very nice. Aunt Suze brought a dessert ...oooohhh... so lovely ice crème.... mmmm....delicious!

After dinner we watched soccer, the Netherlands against Argentina.

I could see the whole match till almost 11.00 PM........it remained only 0-0, to bad! So the Netherlands becomes second in their group C, they put all the scores together (all goals) from each match and then Argentina wins.

Now I must really go to bed....it‘s almost 11.00 PM ! Bye ...see you tomorrow!

Tomorrow Argentina against the Netherlands!

Orange fans in Frankfurt...

Today was an ordinary day ... Went to school, played outside, had dinner and played with Timmie......

Tomorrow evening will be a great evening... then plays Argentina against the Netherlands in Frankfurt. They say that there will be going 70,000 Dutch fans to Frankfurt! There even is a real Orange square in Frankfurt, where all the Orange fans will go to. It really seems so cool to be there, it will be one grand cool festival!

Go upstairs ... Bye ...see you tomorrow!

School-trip!

All on board…........

Today at last we had our school-trip to Duinrell. We had to be at school the normal time 8.30 AM. At first we had to wave goodbye the highest grade (grade 8) because the were going to camp for a couples of days.

At 9 o'clock we left at last with a very beautiful coach owned by Austria coaches. Everyone had to put on their seat-belts. That was in fact for the first time, we have never had a coach with seat-belts.

Here I am sitting great behind the window....

All other children from our school who stayed behind, grade 1,2,3 and 4 and many fathers and mothers waved us goodbye and at last we drove away.

And off we went everybody is waving goodbye….

It wasn’t far at all, 9.50 AM we already arrived in Duinrell. Immediately when we entered the park we went with a couple off classmates to the splash. That is such a cool thing man, you fall down in a boat quite a lot of meters and come down in the water…. So cool this way man!

The Splash....

They have such cool things to do there, almost all with water. There is also a roller coaster; I’ve been in that more then 5 times. It was so cool in that park …and before we know it, it was already time to go home.

When I was at home I was so cold ….. I think that’s from all the water all day. But it was such a great cool day…..

Go upstairs.... bye…. see you tomorrow!

On the move with Dad!

New-born sea lion in Artis... exactly 5 days old!

Yesterday Dad and I were the entire day on the move. Mom went with Femke to Utrecht to Jesus Christ superstar. So we were on our own all day, so first we did some shopping and afterwards we went to Granddad Frans in Purmerend to bring him a father’s day present.

At noon we went to Artis because there was born a new sea-lion, which I of course had to see. Yes he was there! So small, sweet he could not walk very well and felt sometimes ….he was so sweet …..

Afterwards we had a bite to eat at Burger King…… I love those burgers there … we seldom come there but now Mom wasn’t at home we had to have dinner somewhere… I took a double burger with a lot of other stuff on it.

After dinner we went to Ruud because there they were of course also alone at home because Femke and Mom were together to Utrecht.

Roy playing with Rex …..

Then we watched a little soccer on TV and just played a little in the garden with the dogs.

Rex and Joey playing…......

Afterwards we have gone home and then Mom came already home soon….......

See you later!

The Netherlands - Ivory Coast!

My orange -table....

Yesterday I made an orange-table at home. A table with all orange things on it, things to support the Dutch soccer players. I bought a Dutch flag and small flags. Then I have put my wuppies on that table (wuppies from Albert Heijn), it became great man!

Tonight at last the match of the Netherlands against Ivory Coast was. I found it all quite exciting! But fortunately The Netherlands won with 2 - 1. The Netherlands are now going to the next round. Well done eh?

The orange players run the polonaise after the victory on Ivory Coast.....

Go upstairs .. Bye... See you tomorrow!

Today Stan's birthday!

Today June 16th is Stan’s birthday! Happy birthday Stan!

My father and mother and I wish you and Ria a very happy birthday at Domaine the Beauvoir!

To the Rijksmuseum!

Plan of the Rijksmuseum...

Had to be at school at 12.40PM this afternoon, because we had to depart at 12.45PM to go to Amsterdam to visit the Rijksmuseum. That was a ride man! It took us one hour and 15 minutes to get there by car (about 7 fathers and mothers drove us with their car to the museum). There was a big traffic-jam on the Overtoom (a famous road that leads to the centre of the city) in Amsterdam! As a result, we did not have enough time to walk around the museum.

The ticket for the Rijksmuseum

We have seen the Night watch, however, it was very quickly...it was just like “there it is and then we had to pass through".... such a pity........ I think it wasn’t even 25 minutes we’ve been in the Rijksmuseum and then we had to go back to school. We arrived there much to late because our way back was also very long and busy. It was almost 4.20PM when we arrived at the schoolyard.

Man what is that night watch small... I thought that it was much bigger. But it is quite beautiful. That Rembrandt could paint, really great man!

I had a great time at the Rijksmuseum. To pity we had to leave so soon. You could spend a whole day there, doing this during the 2 hours school afternoon is really too short!

Go upstairs.... Bye...see you tomorrow!

Rain, soccer and homework....

Match Saudi Arabia - Tunisia

This morning at school I immediately told the teacher that the Topo which we will have tomorrow wasn’t correct, there were a lot of mistakes in it.... The teacher checked all the things I did with Mom yesterday from the Atlas and it was entirely good. After that everyone from my class got a copy of my own made new Topo so they now are all able to learn it from my own made new map.

Today it was raining almost the entire day.... boring... But fortunately I still had enough to do inside, learning my Topo, watching TV..... World Cup soccer!

This afternoon there was Spain against Ukraine, it became 4 - 0 for Spain. Tonight there was Saudi Arabia against Tunisia, however, a nice match... the Saudi’s have never made one goal at the World Cup matches. Then it became suddenly 1 - 1! The Saudi’s immediately started to pray on the ground... beautiful sight man! But then it became 2 - 1 for Tunisia. In the last minutes the Saudi’s made nevertheless still 2 - 2 and they started to pray on the ground again!

It’s a pity but I have to go to bed now........ I love to watch more soccer but I have to go to school tomorrow.

Tomorrow we will go to Amsterdam with my entire class and go to the Rijksmuseum to watch the paintings of Rembrandt van Rijn, the night watch and more. This year it is exactly 400 years ago Rembrandt van Rijn was born.

Bye ...see you tomorrow!

Topo is completely wrong!

Topo map of Eastern Europe....

Tonight after dinner I started to study my Topography for next Thursday... I found out quickly that the map I got from school which I have to learn wasn’t correct at all.

  • No. 27 on the map does not occur in the row with names
  • No. 16 does not occur in the row
  • No. 21 occurs 2 times in the row
  • No. 28 occurs 2 x in the row
  • No. 18 is not Karpaten
  • No. 27 is Karpaten
  • No. 18 is according to me not even participating…...
So I think this is a rubbish heap, therefore.... how do I have to learn that? No, I won’t even start to learn this mash …I’m not crazy!

Then Mom and I started to sort it all out by Piet’s atlas, so we found almost everything … but no. 18 is a left over…. There are no more names to give on the map… Even in the atlas we could not find the spot what there need to be on my map. Tomorrow at school I will mention all the mistakes in the map we all got home…...

Go to bed... bye… see you tomorrow!

Timmie's rabbit-run!

Timmie is playing outside so nicely….

It’s very hot again today…….. Timmie was so glad when I came home from school….so he could play in his rabbit-run again. He is sitting in the shade in front of his night-hutch just looking around and watching everything and everybody and eating some grass…..

I was also glad that school was out today…..This afternoon it became very hot in our classroom it turned 35 degrees Celsius (95F).. . ppppffffhhh... that’s not very nice!

See you later!

So hot!

Timmie is so hot…......

Today at school it was so hot ….. you could hardly work in our classroom!
This afternoon when school went out I went home and immediately I got Timmie out of his hutch and put him in his big rabbit-run. In his ordinary hutch he becomes very warm. In its big rabbit-run he can lie nicely on the grass and in the shade. He lies completely run out of energy and his heart beats like a fast drum, his stomach goes up and down very very fast that’s a very strange sight!

I just gave him an extra cold carrot from the refrigerator and a bottle of extra cold water…. He will love that…. It’s still hot, here in our garden it’s still almost 28 degrees (83 F) and that while it is 8.30 PM!

Go upstairs... bye … see you tomorrow!

Hot outside, watching TV inside

Watering the plants... It’s so warm and dry... all plants needed lots of water...

Today it was oooohhhh …so hot …. This afternoon it was very quiet outside everybody was watching the World Cup soccer match. The Netherlands against Serbia and Montenegro.... It was a very exciting match, fortunately the Netherlands won the match by a goal of Arjen Robben.

Arjen Robben.

Robben so glad after his goal!

Go upstairs … tomorrow it’s school again, the holiday’s are over …..bye… see you tomorrow!
