Nevertheless still oil balls!

Everyone says that it's nice... oliebollen (oil balls) but not for me …. I don’t like them… that’s because of the raisins I don’t like it … jaaaccchhie ….

This morning at 11 o'clock Dad was called by uncle Arjen that it did not go well with Grandma in the hospital, she was put on a single bedroom now and it does not go very well ….. Mom and Dad have then gone as a javelin to the hospital and I went to Grandma Sita.
I played with Justin again outside, we removed all the snow from the street, that because of the fireworks tonight, otherwise you can’t get it lighted it’s to wet than.

At 3 o’clock Mom and Dad returned from the hospital, it doesn’t go well with granny but she fall asleep and it was better to let her sleep so they left.
Then we have bought rapidly the oil balls for tonight’s old years eve and did some other shopping. Yes, oil balls belong nevertheless to old year eve ... although I don’t like them…

Can’t wait till 12 o’clock this evening…. See you later!

Happy New year!

I wish everyone a very nice evening with lots of fireworks!

Weather alert!

This morning … 9 o’clock... lots of snow………..

This morning we were up early because Mom and Dad had to go to Purmerend to talk to Grandma’s doctor, so I went to Grandma Sita. What a lot of snow there was this morning and there had not almost walked anybody over it …. then it is so beautiful this way …. eh......

Later this morning I played outside in the snow, I threw snow balls at Justin who is in my class and lives across the street of Grandma’s home.
After that I made an other snow monster but now in Grandpa and Grandma’s garden. Grandma didn’t have carrots in the house so I used chicory instead as the snow monster’s eyes... looked great!

Late in the afternoon I went to Mark and we built a fortress in the snow. At 5 o’clock Dad came to pick me up at Mark’s because the weather became very bad. On the radio and TV they said also that there is a weather alarm (alert) for tonight!

It’s already snowing for hours and everything is real white by now ….. even Santa, who is under the shed in the back of the garden is entirely white .... He now looks like the terrible snow man!

We put Timmie (his complete hutch) in the barn because he also became entirely wet... it was so sad… now he is nice and dry! The snow is that high we can’t even open the back sliding doors because then a complete snow mountain falls into the living room. They say that there will be rain tonight so that becomes ice when it falls down on the ground (glazed frost).

Later this evening I watched my Blog and saw at the comments that I have won an award! Leon (2 lazy 2 blog) that’s so cool! Thank you that’s so nice!

I go to bed now ... then it’s tomorrow very fast and old year’s eve at last…. that means fireworks, bye … see you to morning!

More snow!

Now a real thick package of snow...

This morning it started to snow a little bit, not very much but little snow flacks.

About 10 o’clock Dad and I went to the shop in our village to buy Fireworks for old year’s night. We bought 2 packages of 500 crackers to start our fireworks with and end it with and for in between we bought beautiful glow fireworks. Oooohh.... I think it’s so cool lighting the fireworks on old year’s eve at 12 o’clock in front of our house!

Mom was early again from work this afternoon so we could go to the hospital.
Before that we went to the bowling and I played there for an hour. It was so cool man! It went already very nicely with my new ball.

Afterwards we went to Purmerend to say hello to Grandma in the hospital. Sadly enough she was asleep when we arrived... for one moment she opened her eyes and then she fall asleep again….. so we’ve gone home….

On our way home it started to snow again this time very hard… it was a beautiful sight … everything so white…....

My snow monster!

Tonight after dinner I have gone outside and made of the snow in our garden a snow monster… beautiful eh?
Now I go to bed..... bye…. See you tomorrow!

Playing with my new ball!

Ready steady.... go....

This afternoon at 1 o’clock we went to the Bowling and they had one lane free for me so I could try out my new ball.
It went immediately actually very well... wooouuuwww..... how great that new ball plays! After one hour I still didn’t have enough by playing that new ball and Dad booked me an other half an hour.... so great man!
Tomorrow it will not be very busy at the bowling so perhaps I’ll go and play for an other hour tomorrow. It’s so cool that free card I won at a few months ago at a bowling tournament, it’s good for 10 times ½ hour play. So I have just used 1 ½ hour now and have 3 ½ hours left to play, that is really so cool!

Now I will stop because Grandma Sita comes by because Mom and Dad have to go to Grandpa Frans in Purmerend…. Bye…. See you tomorrow!

Today real snow!

Snow at the hospital in Purmerend....

This morning I slept till late, didn’t even hear Mom leaving for work this morning. I woke up at half passed 8! Then I watched TV in bed with Dad for a while…. mmmm….. deliciously! Later this morning I helped Dad a little clearing the house and all the Christmas presents put on their own spot. Then suddenly this morning it started to snow, very very hard! There already rapidly came a complete thick package in our garden.

However, a beautiful face with all the Christmas lights and Santa in the backyard!
At about 12 o ‘clock Mom called from her work that she was almost ready and was packing her things to leave. So we went to the Station to pick her up.

Then Mom suggested to look for new shoes for me…I told her that I don’t at all needed new shoe… that there is nothing wrong with the shoes I’m wearing! But Mom said that I have actual summer shoes, one downpour and I have wet feet.... she said that the weather becomes now nevertheless real badly and then I just need other shoes real wintershoes.....

It turned out to be terrible difficult to get now. There were no more winter shoes to become.... All the shops run out of winter shoes in my size… one shop had one pair in my size…but I didn’t like them! But Mom said that I had to take them because I wouldn’t get a pair anywhere else. So now I’m fixed up with a pair of ugly shoes.... jacccchh....

After those terrible shoes we went to Purmerend to say hello to Grandma. It’s so rarely that Mom and Dad are both free from work that because of that we decided to go to the hospital to say hello to Grandma now during daytime. Grandma was tired, very very tired, for this reason we paid her a short visit so she could sleep for a while….

This evening it just started to snow again and we made a photograph it is such a beautiful face with all the Christmas lights and Santa sitting in the backyard surrounded with fresh snow! Nice eh? It is late already, I go to bed now ….bye … see you tomorrow!

Second Christmas day!

Fondue... deliciously!

This morning Dad went firstly to Grandma Corrie in the hospital. Afterwards we had a very nice Christmas breakfast together.. This afternoon we went all to Grandma in the hospital. She was very tired but was very pleased to see us all.

Afterwards we had fondue with the neighbors, delicious meat and a delicious dessert, tiramisu! It is already very late, I go to bed... bye … see you tomorrow!

Presents time at last!

These are all the presents also those from Mom and Dad.

This afternoon somewhere around 5 o’clock it finally was time to unwrap the presents! Man what I’ve got! wooouuuhhhwww....... that much! A film for the PSP and 2 games a train wagon for my train and even much more...

The present I have made for mom, Santa Claus + Christmas tree. She liked it very, very much!

Shrimps cocktail lovely!

Tonight we have had a delicious Christmas dinner with the three of us. At first we had a beautiful shrimp cocktail and after that baked salmon with pasta and large shrimps, asparagus with bacon and pears ... mmmm....for dessert we had a splendid ice-cream with hot chocolate sauce.

After dinner I played my new games on the PSP.... this is so cool man! The sudoku game is so great but also the racing game is incredibly cool.

But now I must go to bed ... it was a great day that first Christmas day up to the second Christmas day ..bye…. see you tomorrow!

Christma eve!

We sat at the little table in the living room with our own grill plate watching a real Christmas film.

Yesterday morning we went shopping doing all the groceries for the Christmas dinners. Then we came along Ruud and the children on Schalkwijk (shopping mall in Haarlem) and went home with them. Femke came later on she was at Thomas and Michiel’s Grandmother who is also in the hospital.
When Femke came home she almost immediately asked us if we wanted dinner at their place and if we wanted to go along with them to the Midnight Mass in Vijfhuizen (the village they live in) and so we did.
It became a very nice evening. For dinner we had meat from the grill at our own table in the middle of the living room in front of the TV and watched a real Christmas Film.
At 10 o'clock we went to church in Vijfhuizen and after the Midnight Mass we lighted a candle for both the Grannies!
Afterwards we have been home with Ruud and Femke and the children for a little while and had a drink and unwrapped the Christmas presents.

Pffffhhh.... it was late before I went to bed last night almost half past one, that’s late eh? But it was a very nice evening! See you tonight….bye!

Christmas- breakfast at school!

Here we just sit with our class to one table in the large hall of the school... were having a ball!

The breakfast at school was delicious! I have eaten 4 slices of bread and 8 crackers with sugar... mmmm.... I love that I’ll never get that at home! Afterwards the teacher read us the Christmas story of Joseph and Maria going to Bethlehem and the birth of baby Christ. Later we watched a movie on the TV and so it was 12 o’clock before you know it. Then school went out…. The holidays … at last….it’s Christmas!

Aunt Hanneke and me eating our hamburger!

This afternoon we went to the hospital in Purmerend because Mom and Dad had to talk to Grandma’s doctors. I stayed in the big hall of the hospital, bought myself a bottle of soda and played on my PSP. After Mom and Dad had the conversation we went to see Grandma, we only stayed for a little while because Grandma was very tired.

Afterwards we all have been (with all uncle’s and aunt’s) to Grandpa’s house and had a drink there and later on we had dinner at a hamburger restaurant, Caddy's diner.
What a big hamburgers they had, they were twice as big as the ones at Mc Donald’s! But it was very nice, it was a cool restaurant, above the bar hung a real big American car and everywhere hung and stood all American things.
After dinner we went back home and now go I to bed because it is already terrible late.... bye ….see you tomorrow!

Christmas celebration at school!

Fire-basket on the school yard

Tonight we all had to be at school at 7 o'clock to celebrate Christmas together. A couple of children from my class participated in a school play. We also sung a couple of Christmas songs all together... Later on the teachers also sung some Christmas songs. When school went out at 8 o’clock all the fathers and mothers were waiting outside and were drinking glow wine or hot chocolate at the fire baskets which were all over the school yard.

We could also drink hot chocolate at the fire places if we wanted ... but I don’t like hot chocolate ….... However, Mark and I watched the fires for a while…..... wooouuuhh… so cool man …. There were only a couple children who threw sand and their plastic cups from the hot chocolate in the fires and every time they did the fire said pang..pang.... pang.... and then sparkles flew around the school yard.

To bad Dad was not there at the school yard... he had to go to Grandpa Frans in Purmerend. When I got home my clothes were stinking awful from the fires as if I was a fireplace myself.... bahhhh.... what a dirty smell! I put all my clothes in the laundry basket.
So after that I played with Timmie for awhile … but now I go to bed… bye …see you tomorrow!

Advent calendar almost empty!

4 more Christmas sweets to go.....
eehhhh... there are 3 now....

This afternoon after school , Mom Grandma and I went shopping . Only I have been to a couple of other shops as the hypermarkets where Mom went too. I have been to the Marskramer (a presents shop) to buy a couple of Christmas presents. Afterwards I went to the Kruitvat (a drugstore) and to the Lidl (supermarket)... Happily I found everything I wanted to buy...

After the shopping I was busy quite a long time making all “bling -bling” wrappings around the presents. They became so cool I’m very proud of it... It looks so great! So I'm finished for Christmas... bought all the presents wrapped them and put them under the tree.... Christmas can come!

I go upstairs... watch some TV .... bye ...see you tomorrow!

Christmas cards for school!

Making the Last Christmas cards, make print outs, print the envelopes and on a couple of envelopes stick a stamp.

Today at school we had the Big Dutch Children’s dictation. The dictation was yesterday evening on the TV and the teacher had taken it on video so that we could see it and make it in class today.

Here the winner of the Dutch Children’s dictation on TV.

It was very difficult, all strange words such as oei-oei-machine and something with a mouse. It also went very fast... one sentence I could not keep up and that one I missed completely.

The Christmas cards.

Tonight Dad and I went to the Kruitvat (drugstore) to buy photo-glossy paper. I had to make the last Christmas cards for school, for a couple children in my class and for the teacher. On the card there are all little pictures, each picture was on my blogspot in the last couple of weeks. Every picture has something to do with Christmas, Santa, which I have made with Mom and is sitting in the garden, my Dickens Christmas house, Frosty the Snowman and the Christmas shed. Now all the cards are finished, so I can take them to school tomorrow.

Now I go upstairs and do something on my America essay….
Bye… see you tomorrow!

Christmas party at the bowling

Saskia of the bowling as a blown up Santa Claus.

Tonight we had the Christmas party at the bowling. We did all kinds of games, a bit like Saterday but this time you could win al small prices by throwing strikes, left handed, or throw the ball on the 10th pin, backwards all sorts of games. I won 2 prices, one was a bowling ball towel and the other one was a key- cord.

The bowling was even more disco then Saturday.... only mom could not make nice pictures because of the smoke there was a mist all over the bowling area al night. .....
It was a cool party!
After the bowling we all together had dinner. Barbecue...I love that... I have eaten a lot of meat and fruits and afterwards we had a very large ice-cream topped with hot chocolate..... mmmmm... it was a real cool evening.....
But now I’ve to go to bed, have to get up early …. Tomorrow it’s a normal school day! Bye …. See you tomorrow!

Preparing everything for Christmas!

Presents under the tree....

This afternoon I helped Mom with making the Christmas Cards. Affix on the stamps and afterwards posted the cards from the people in the neighborhood and put the rest in the mail box. It was a quite a bundle, to much to take by hand so I had to put it in a plastic bag.
When I was finished I went to the neighbors to take a look at their Christmas tree. Woooouuuh....they also had a beautiful big tree... with a lot of present under it. Marijke said she wanted a ”bling …bling” Christmas with all glowing presents under the tree. She had still as lot of beautiful glowing paper left and all kinds of nice ribbons and Little Christmas bears to decorate the presents with. She told me I could take that all home to decorate our presents! So I took it home and the next couple of hours I was busy to decorate all our presents. It was very nice work making all the present beautiful! Making ribbons on it and put little Christmas bears on it. I really made bling…bling presents …it looks great under the tree!

It’s late already, I go to bed….bye…. see you tomorrow!

Last training of this year!

Disco bowling at 9 AM in the morning!

This morning when we arrived at the bowling it was very dark. Then suddenly they put on the disco lights and played hard disco music. The last bowling training of this year had to be a party said Ronald our trainer. Every time we threw the ball we had to do it differently, then backwards, then a left throw or between our legs it was so cool! No one make a high score but it didn’t matter it was a real party! Sometimes there was a complete smoke curtain hanging above the bowling area and you could not see the ball at all.

After the bowling we have been to Hoofddorp to buy a present for Grandma Corrie who is in the hospital and it’s her birthday today. We had the idea to buy a very big imitation rose (she is not allowed to have real flowers in her room because of diseases, infection danger) and hang some presents in it. At the flower shop we saw a very big imitation rose the shaft was more than 1.10 meter (0.4 inches) long and the flower as big as a large soccer football. Afterwards we went to a toy shop to buy a stuffed animal to put in the big rose. I almost immediately saw a little doggie that was so sweet I didn’t want anything else for Grandma. We also bought a bottle of perfume and some shower gel and we attached the little doggie and the perfume and the shower gel to the big flower… it looked great.

As soon as we were finished we went to Purmerend to the hospital where Grandma lies. She was so happy with her presents. I stuck the rose with the dog somewhere between the foot end of her bed, so Grandma can see the rose and the dog well. On the ceiling above her bed were all flags hanging and Grandpa brought some delicious cakes.., they tasted so good!

After the hospital we did some grocery shopping and took a look at the Christmas decorations, lights in our neighborhood. There were houses which were so pretty, some people did a lot of work, here is one house that is very beautiful!

I go upstairs.... bye... see you tomorrow!

Today Grandma Corrie's birthday!

Today it's December 17th Grandma Corrie's birthday!
Happy birthday Grandma!

Grandma I hope in spite you are in the hospital and don’t feel very well, nevertheless I’ll hope you have a nice day! See you later!

Playing with Timmie

Timmie on the couch....

Playing and climbing on the couch.....

This afternoon when school went out it was very bad weather, rain, sometimes little snow and much wind. The Christmas tree beside Santa and Timmie in the garden was blown across the garden. Mom just put Santa in the middle of the shed so he will stay dry. Timmie sits there all alone in its hutch. Happily he can’t get wet because his hutch stands under the shed. I have taken him inside the house this afternoon so he can run and play a little. Not for long because otherwise he becomes to warm and that’s no good when he gets back in the cold.

Tonight I went to the trumpet lessons.... This afternoon I studied hard on the homework I got... and what do you think I got..... only Christmas songs to play.....but it was great to play! Now I can play Christmas songs at Christmas as I did a few years ago then on the (block system) flute and now on the trumpet.

Go to bed now.....bye..... see you tomorrow!

Making homework at Mark's

This afternoon I went home with Mark to do our homework together. Tomorrow we have a dictation of difficult words. So we had to learn 3 quite a long lists of difficult words. 2 lists of the 3 were very easy but 1 was quite difficult. Words as:
* conciërge (concierge)
* occasion
* commercieel (commercial)
* crematorium (crematory)
* catalogus (catalogue)

But now we can dream it!

After dinner I played a bit with Timmie... it is such a hugging rabbit! He always tries to crawl up to your neck and lays his lovely head on your shoulder... this way he can sit for hours!

I go upstairs and watch some TV.....bye .... see you tomorrow!

Coca Cola Christmas-truck!

What a beauty eh?

This afternoon I worked on my essay again, I searched on the internet to find some real American things and came by the Coca cola Christmas truck. Oooohhh... this one I like so much it’s so beautiful...

A couple of years ago that truck was in Amsterdam and I had my picture taken with the Santa Claus and the truck.. That was so cool! The picture is not very clear, Mom didn’t have her digital camera then.

Ok...... were was I ........ I was busy searching for real American things... coca cola that’s a real American product....

That already exists quite a long time. In 1886, it has been invented by an apothecary John Styth and was meant to be a medicine against headache and tasted very nicely. Later on they added spring water and this way Coca cola was born!

Santa Claus as we know him today was invented by Coca cola . A Mr. Sundblom made the first Coca cola Christmas painting of Santa Claus, after that he did it every year for more than 33 years! So, I have done a little work for my essay, now and then a little part and it will be finish in no time!

Now I’ll go upstairs and work on my Christmas presents for under the Christmas tree, because there has to be a lot of them under that tree by Christmas! Bye ...... See you tomorrow!

USA essay

This is the front of my essay....

And this is the back of my essay.... Yes..., Dak-Ind these are the USA quarters from the internet site you send me, .... There great eh? Thanks for that, I was so happy with it!

Tomorrow we’ll go further on the essay at school. I think it’s a nice subject the United States of America. I’m learning quite a lot from it. This here is the National song the text has been written by Francis Scott Key in 1814, and it became the National Song of the United States in 1931. The other picture is a bout the government, presidents and the governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger.

This Arnold Schwarzenegger was as a matter of fact today in the news he? Concerning the execution on Stanley Tookie Williams. Everyone was talking about it at school today.. That man has written books for children when he was in prison! I’ll hope that there won't be happening crazy things in America, no riots, this morning on the TV they said that there will be riots in California after the execution......

So I’ll go upstairs and try to write a chapter of my essay .... Bye... ... See you tomorrow!

Frosty is here again!

Frosty the Snowman....

This snowman I got a couple years ago from Grandpa and Grandma. It’s Frosty and he dances and sings a song. It’s only a bit difficult to hear what he is singing and for me who don’t know English that much more difficult to understand. Mom sat every now and than with her ear very tight to him to hear what he is singing.... Then Grandpa even wanted to know what he was singing that’s why he took place behind the computer and searched if there was anything about frosty on the internet… and yes of course there was…

Frosty the snowman
Was a jolly happy soul
With a corncob pipe
And a button nose
And two eyes made out of coal
Frosty the snowman
Is a fairy tale they say
He was made of snow
But the children know
How he came to life one day

There must have been some magic in that
Old silk hat they found
For when they placed it on his head
He began to dance around
O Frosty the snowman
Was alive as he could be
And the children say
He could laugh and play
Just the same as you and me

It's funny to know now, at last, what he is singing....

At school today we all got a beautiful color plate, a nice Santa! Normally I’m not that crazy about color plates but these one is very nice to hang on the wall at home for Christmas!

Tonight at the bowling I played in a new team and got immediately another shirt in which I have to play, a new sponsor. Now it’s a transport company! You can see my new shirt in my picture diary on the right side.

I go to bed... bye … see you tomorrow!

The Christmas fair in Haarlem

Market stalls on de Grote Markt (the Big Market) in Haarlem...

This afternoon we have been to the Christmas Fair on the Big Market in Haarlem. It was there very busy, but nice. You could buy everything there for the Christmas tree, but also nice bites to eat, Spanish churros and Greek Gyros and drinks as glow wine.

King Winter................................Nice food

Big Market seen from the town hall.........Market stall

We also run into King Winter and some people in old-fashioned clothing like in Charles Dickens. It was a very nice Christmas Fair in Haarlem..

I’ll go upstairs and watch TV... bye…. See you tomorrow!
