To Artis!

The little lions weren’t little anymore…...
This morning after breakfast Mom and I went to
It was very busy! Everywhere screaming little children and mothers with baby-cars…... But the weather was nice and I wanted to say hello to all the animals I know and see how they were doing. The little lions had grown a lot, at first we could not find them because we were looking for some small tiny lions, but they turned out the be almost as big as all the others! On the picture above you can see one eating a big part of meat, I couldn’t believe it!

Afterwards we continued our tour up to Mr Pompidoe (the owl).... But that was awful …. On his cage hung a placard that he had passed away on March 31, 2006 he just reached the age of 40 years. I didn’t like that, Pompidoe always recognized me if I called out “oehoe” he always responded back, so sad he is gone..
Fortunately it went very well with the little Elephant Yindee, she was playing outside with the sand, so nice to see!

Yindee playing with sand!
Also with the big white polar bear it went well... Did you know that polar bears eat eggs in the shell? Strange sight it is.
It was very nice in Artis but very busy!

Chinese temple on the Zeedijk (
On our way back we had to leave the underground at station Nieuwmarkt, the train could not go on, there were problems. So we had to walk back to the central station. It was quite a walk we went over the Zeedijk (Did you know that all of those shops have everything in Chinese, even the prices on everything they sell are in Chinese and you can’t read it and they don’t speak Dutch at all!

That’s me walking on the Zeedijk, direction: central station....
Tonight after dinner I was however, pretty tired... We walked the entire day… .. But it was a very nice day!
Go upstairs... bye… see you tomorrow!
