Queen's day 2006!

Small boats with "orange people" in the Prinsengracht in Amsterdam... That is queen’s Day ….....

Yesterday we got up at 04.00 AM.... Yes, that was quite early! We have then left with the full trailer to our village centre. It was still terrible dark then but there were already many people who got there selves a pretty spot to sell their “old “ stuff. We just had the last spot under the porch at the mail office. Gladly that spot was still free we wanted that spot because when it would start to rain we’ll still be dry out there.

At 04.45 AM we were completely unpacked and ready to sell our stuff. .. There was only one problem... it was terribly cold! It was only a few degrees above zero (35 F) and there was a very cold wind, man what was I cold…..bbbbrrrrr....

Later it started to rain also, but we were dry fortunately under the porch of the mail office! At 09.00 my toes were entirely frozen! Fortunately the sale of my stuff went very well!
Within 2 hours I had sold both my old bicycles and had I still left a few old video’s, a couple of books from the 2 boxes full which I had!
At about 12.30 we had become so cold that we picket up everything at left. I already had sold almost everything except for a few books and a few videos.

When we turned home Ruud, Michiel and Granddad came to us. Together we went to Amsterdam.... Fortunately it was not that cold in Amsterdam and it remained dry....

The "man’s club" at its first drink at café the New Lelie in the Jordan of Amsterdam..... That really tasted pretty well!

Busy, busy and very busy in the little streets of the Jordan in Amsterdam. In the background you can see the Westertoren! That’s really a celebration there man, that’s so cool! Everywhere small boats in the Amsterdam canal’s with celebrating orange people, everywhere music and lively dancing people ....a real party!

In the evening we have been with a big group to Mr. Wong and had a great meal. It really was a great day... but I was very tired man.......
At my photo-albums (Queen’s Day - koninginnedag 2006) you can see all the pictures which we have made yesterday at the market here in our village and in Amsterdam at the canals...

Today was a nice resting day... much had not been done. I only sat behind the computer or was watching TV. I needed that today, it was necessary after a busy day like yesterday.

Go to bed... bye see you tomorrow!
