Yes, yes 200 pins pin!

Today at last I obtained my 200 pins pin….

Tonight at the bowling at the Monday night league it went fantastic! The first game was rather nice 168 pins, but at 2nd the game it went really great and before I even realized it I made a 220 pins game! Months after months I didn’t succeed in doing that, I had games of 199, 198 just could not get that 200 game, yes you have to get 200 pins to get this little pin. This time it was even a lot more than 200, 220, I almost got the next reward the 225 pins pin! Also the 3rd game went pretty nice I made a 213 pins game, and again I got over the 200.

Hope that I make such great games in about 2 weeks. Then I’ll have to play the finals in a very big tournament that will be all the way in Eindhoven (south part of the Netherlands). To that tournament we from my bowling club will go there by coach that will be paid by the sponsor, so cool man!

Well have to stop writing now, have to finish my French essay for school … bye, see you later!

The English book which I had read for school.

Today it is already the last day of the Christmas holidays; tomorrow I’ll have to go to school again. The holidays were great. I bought an XBOX 360 from the money Grandpa Frans gave me for Christmas. That is such a cool thing man! I also bought a tennis game and race game called PRO Street, so cool man!

There was more than enough time during the holidays to play with my new XBOX and try out all my new games. One day I had to do my home work. I had 3 tasks. For French I had to make a small essay, for history an essay about Zeus and for English I had to read a book in English.

For English I had read the book Claws from John Landon. That was rather difficult but mom has helped me. It was a very exciting book. It was about a man that was a cook but he could not work in an ordinary kitchen, which was so boring to him. He was crazy about the mountains and for this reason he went along as a cook on an expedition with a professor to look for a monster with very big claws that lived in the mountains, so very exciting that book man!

Well I’ve to stop writing now I’ll have to help Dad, we have to carry some couches and bring them to Piet our neighbor’s working address…..bye… see you later!

Just throwing the tennisball at Bo….

Today I worked on my home work almost the entire day….Tomorrow I’m having 2 tests, one English test and one French test, pppfffhhh... pages full of words to learn...... Man I became so stuffy by that….

After all that work we nicely went to the beach in Bloemendaal. Man that was great! Bo loved it! We had taken along a tennis ball and Bo was running after that ball all the time. Sometimes he went into the sea and it looked as if he didn’t notice at all he was standing in the water up to his mouth just to catch the ball. He went in and out of the water as if it was one of those things he is doing every day over and over again, so beautiful man!

Bo continued running in the sand, kept on running after his ball…..

After we climbed back up the dune we had a nice cup of pea soup with some French bread just to become warm again at the restaurant Parnassia on top of the dune…. man that was so delicious!

Bo was really tired after all that running when we came home, he is sleeping right now at the couch!

Pizza!

The pizza before it went into the oven…..

Tonight I made dinner. I could choose what we all would have and so I therefore I choose a pizza. At first I rolled out the dough and then I had put on the tomato sauce. After that I did some special pizza cheese on it and salami, onions, small tomatoes, anchovy and basil. Man what did that pizza look great!

That’s how my pizza looked like when it came out of the oven………

mmmmmmm.... It was pretty nice ……next week I’ll make another one!

Many people did that before me! Before me there were 2 boys from Haarlem, which I thought was quite a coincidence.... (Almost the area I come from)

Holten Canadian War Cemetery!

The entrance of the Canadian War Cemetery...... Quite near our park (where we rented our cottage) there was a very large Canadian cemetery.

It really is a very big and beautiful cemetery.

The stairs which leads you to the cemetery...

Here where buried 1355 Canadian soldiers who lost their lives in the Second World War when they liberated The Netherlands from the German occupation.

At the left side of the photo, that’s me with Bo walking to the fields where all grave tombs are…. ...

Many tomb stones... all next to each other and beside each one there are plants and flowers, so beautiful man!

It was very impressive, all those graves.... and think of the fact that there are more Dutch cemeteries where Canadian soldiers from the Second World War are buried….....

The forest in Holten….

Yesterday afternoon we arrived back home again. Man it really was cool in Holten! What I liked the most was the fire place in our cottage; we made a big fire in it every day! That was so cool man, especially the last day when we had the biggest fire because we had to finish all wood. Dad and I made one big fire; it was hot in the room man!

We did quite a lot in Holten and the park where we were staying was great and beautiful and the cottage was also very pretty.

This was our cottage, really in the middle of in the forest.....

This is the centre of the park, there was a shop and a restaurant....

We also visited the Holterberg (Holter Mountain), man what a mountain that was, 194 feet high! We didn’t even saw it when we reached the top of the mountain; we were going down without noticing it at all, but it was beautiful there, lots and lots of trees all colored red almost an Indian Summer in the Netherlands…

We have also been to a Canadian Cemetery , where Canadian soldiers are buried who have died in The Netherlands during The second World War between 1939 and 1945. There I’ll be writing about later on…..

Autumn holidays!

The Holterberg (Holter mountain)......

The autumn holidays are there. Man it really were busy weeks these last weeks! Home work, home work and more home work.....

Thursday I had the big school party, which was pretty cool man! All DJ's preformed there, so cool man. But at 11.30PM there was a voice through the microphone that said that all the kids from 1th and 2sd grade had to leave and go home. The party went on for the older kids from my school.

The following morning I had to go to school again, but in the afternoon I was rather tired man. But now there are the autumn holidays and tomorrow we are leaving for the forest. We are going to Overijssel this time to Holten at the Holterberg (the Holten moutain). The highest mountain of the Netherlands, 37 miles high they say. I'll love to go there, just some running arround with Bo in the forrest!

New bowlingball!

Wooouuuuwww... isn’t it beautiful!

This afternoon after school we have been to Jos Goedhart’s bowling shop and did buy a new bowling ball. I needed a new ball (said the coach) a half side ball, with which you can throw the ball with special effect and with a fingertip grip. That is a grip with which fingers are only inserted into the ball as far as the first joint, it increases the distance between the thumb and fingers, thus giving a brief extra time difference between the thumb and fingers being released, which allows the fingers to give more lift, so imparting more revolutions to the ball.

Fortunately Jos had that ball in stock so he immediately made it fit to my hand. That lasted pretty long, he had to measure my fingers a few times and I had to try it all the time. It all succeeded very well. Immediately after the bowling ball was finished we went the bowling house, I had to try it out! So I played a few games for awhile and it went better than I could ever expect. Man what a cool ball, I threw a 179 game, so great and that with a new ball!

A few days ago I bought a ticket at school for the school party which will be next week Thursday in the Patronaat in Haarlem.

First game!

Yesterday I had my first bowling game for the region championships. Rather cool man! We played at our bowling house here in the Haarlemmerliede. My team and I became 6^th , not bad eh for a first time?

Next time we'll have to play somewhere else in a bowling house in Huizen. Exciting man! Go now, I’ll have to rise pretty early tomorrow at 6.15 AM, it’s just an ordinary school day.....

It was splendid in Orvelte, we did quite a lot there. We had to make a lot of assignments, drawings and much more. Also we have cycled a lot, to Westerbork and went to bed very, very late. We did not go to bed one night before 1.30 AM. Man what was I tired when I came home, I went to bed at 7 o'clock and slept till the next moring 8.15 AM. At 9 o'clock we had to be at school again to work on our assignments again, but at 1 o'clock school was out again.

In the afternoon Mark came by and at 8 o'clock that evening I went to bed again and slept pretty long again. Man it was great Orvelte, but afterwards You'll have to sleep...long...very long....... Now I'll go upstairs to do my homework for tomorrow.... bye..... see you later!

De Borckerhof in Orvelte....

Here I'm again! Was very busy last week. For the first time I had a whole week school at my new school and got lots of homework to do. French, English and much more.

In the morning I'll have to go to school at 7.15 AM and come home at 3.45 in the afternoon. Than I'll have to do my homework and before I know it it's dinner time. But it is quite nice at my new school. Tomorrow we're going on a school project week trip to Orvelte in Drente. There we will do a lot of assignments in Westerbork.

Well go to bed now, have to rise at 5.45 AM have to be at school at 7.15 because the coach to Orvelte will leave at 7.30 AM tomorrow morning... bye.. see you in a week! .

Kalkar!

This is the cooling tower at the Kalkar nuclear reactor, its more than 148 feet high, this nuclear reactor never ever worked…... It was completed in 1985, but there were so many protests in the country that the government in 1995 decided to close Kalkar for ever and now it’s turned into a “Theme park”.

Friday afternoon after school we immediately left for Germany to Kalkar where Grandma and Grandpa gave their 50^th anniversary party. Man what did it take long before we finally arrived there; it took us 3 hours to get there, one traffic-jam after another. When we arrived there Grandpa and Grandma were waiting for us at the entrance of the hotel.

After we had put the luggage in our rooms we immediately went to the restaurant where we had a drink and a nice bite to eat. Man there was lots and lots of food and you could choose what ever you wanted to eat and you could go as much to those food-tables as you wanted. I went back every time to those tables, sometimes to get a nice fish and sometimes to get a nice ice-cream…..... mmmmmm....so great man!

After awhile Ruud and Femke and the children also arrived and we all had a nice dinner. After dinner we gave Grandpa and Grandma their present. We had made a very large bride and groom basket with in it 50 presents for all the years they are married. Grandpa and Grandma loved it!

After the present we have been to the cellar of the hotel where we had a drink.

Saterday morning we had a delicious breakfast, there was so much to eat that it was imposable to try everything… .. mmmmm.... it was all great.

After the breakfast there was a guided tour around the park. It was a pity I could not follow the guide it was all in German I couldn’t understand a word of it. I however, did see the cooling tower (photograph 1) from the inside which was pretty cool man, there was a great echo in there!

After the visit to the tower I have been with Kim, Roy and Michiel to the theme park and we went in the roller coaster more than 6 times, that’s so cool man!

Here we are all in the roller coaster; I’m sitting in the second carriage with the dark pullover on.... Man that went fast!

Afterwards are we went racing… man that went fast. Here I’m in the I first car.

After that we watched Ruud and Roy they went drag racing. Those racecars go so fast man they go from 0 to 63 miles per hour in 3 seconds and that on a special track. That is so cool man I have never seen that before. You must really drive that car accelerate and change gears by yourself, you really drive a real racecar. To bad that I wasn’t allowed to drive such a car you’ll have to be 15 to do so. Roy was lucky; he just turned 15 a few months ago so he was allowed to drive! Roy did very well; he became first in one race, great eh?

Man it really was fantastic weekend, much food and drinks the entire day as much as you liked and riding the roller coaster... what a great, great time I had.

50th Anniversary!

My new school...

This morning I had be at school by 8.30 AM. So Mark and I left home at 7.30 AM by bike to Overveen.

At school we had to go to the auditorium where the headmaster told us a few things. Then we all had to go to the school photographer to have our photograph taken and afterwards we got an explanation about how everything works in and around the school and after that we all got our class schedules from our class mentor.

That mentor is a great and funny man, he makes jokes all the time and he also is our geography teacher. It was great at school, but tomorrow the real lessons will start and than the homework will start as well….

Go now I’ll have to pack my bag for tomorrow, have to pack a lot of books. The first lesson will be biology, than French, than Mathematics and at the end of the day (art)-drawing lessens for 2 hours....exciting!

Yesterday at about 4 PM the first guests came to my birthday party.

After the cake we had so much fun with the dogs. Ruud and Femke had taken along Joey.

The DJ table.............

This morning I got up early just to put everything ready for my birthday party which will start this afternoon. At the photograph I am just testing my DJ table. Last week Mark and I downloaded lots and lots of music from the internet, I collected more than 558 mp3’s at my laptop! Well that will be enough to play at my birthday party in our garden. School books!

What a pile of books eh?

Saturday morning the postman came by with a very large box which was addressed to me. There were my new school books. We ordered those books a couple of weeks ago by the internet. Man what a pile that is!

It was rather fun to see through those books. In about 2 weeks the summer holidays are over and than I’ll have to go to my new school. I’ve already been to my new school by bike just to see what the best route will be to go there, grandpa and Mark went along. Well it turned out to be exact 10 km (6, 22 miles). We cycled the entire track in about 40 minutes and turned home in 36 minutes, it all turned out better than expected.

August 28^th Mark and I have to go to school the first time to pick up our timetable and go to the school photographer. What we will do more that day we don’t know yet. One week later we will go with our new class on a project week to Orvelte, however, it’s all very exciting!

Picked up the receiver in Amsterdam!

Went by train to the Amsterdam Amstelstation...

Today we got a phone call from the Mediamarkt where I ordered a new receiver that it had arrived there. So Mom and I went by train to the Amstelstation in Amsterdam where Dad was working quite near today and he pick us up at the station and then we all went to the Mediamarkt.

The Central Station in Amsterdam... just a little break before the train went on…. and later on it left for the Amstelstation near Dad's work...

Well my new receiver is fantastic and man what did it take a long time before I saved enough money so I could finally buy it, but now I’ve got it! From Mom and Dad I got some loudspeakers to complete it all for my birthday which is the end of the month.

Will stop blogging now, I’ve to see if I can get it to work in my room tonight. I can hardly wait to hear my music from my own stereo.... .... Later!

Yindee's birthday!

Yindee and her Mom....

Tonight we have been to Artis. Yindee the little elephant became 2 years old and received a very big beautiful vegetable cake made by a big group of children at 6.30 PM this evening. She loved it, all melons, tomatoes, cucumbers and much, much more and she ate it all with her mummy, daddy and aunt, so cool to see man!

Man what do they eat much those elephants...... entire melons disappear in their mouths, strange sight that is!

Well I think that Yindee, had a very nice birthday, she looked very happy with her cake….

After watching Yindee we went on and had a very nice dinner at the terrace of the big restaurant which is in the middle of Artis. Afterwards we went to see the little gorilla who was born a few weesk ago, man that is such a sweet baby!

Here is the mother gorilla and her baby which was born on July 16th, man that baby is small!

It was very very crowded in Artis, but it was very, very great to be there, I had a great evening!

Today at last the weather was nice so I played outside with Mark (he just returned yesterday from Greece) and Justin. We also did a game with Bo, throwing the tennis ball at each other… cool man, Bo is so fast!

Bo and me at the beach…...

Tonight it stopped raining so we went off to Zandvoort. Just to have a nice run with Bo along the sea. Man he loved it! At first he was running around the sand and later on he went into the water. There was much wind at the beach but that didn’t bother Bo at all, he just kept on running continuously, so great man!

In the summer dogs are only allowed at the beach after 19.00 PM and they have to be led. Bo was so excited he almost pulled me into the water too, well, that really was me a bit too cold right now....bbbbrrrrr.... no not today Bo!

It was a great laugh when he tried to bite the weaves over and over again, so cool!

After our walk along the beach we went into the village centre to have an ice-cream at my favorite ice-cream shop, they really have some lovely ice-cream over there…....mmmmmmm...

Bad weather!

Rain....rain and more rain... and cold.....

The weather here is really terribly annoying. Since we returned home last Sunday night the weather is terrible here. It’s cold and it’s raining all the time. We only slept every day till late, did some shopping and stayed inside. Bo doesn’t understand it at all, why he can’t play in the garden. From time to time he escapes by the backdoor and starts to play in the wet grass with his ball. Then he turns soaking wet and I have to dry him up with a towel all the time.

At this time he is lying on a bench in front of the window and is looking outside and looks pretty sad…, as if he is thinking “why can’t I play outside?“ Yes Bo we all have to remain inside and so do you! I do hope the weather will be better next week, it’s so boring this way, holidays and rain…....

In a few minutes I will go and watch TV the Tour de France will be on it’s the last day, exciting man! Bye …see you later!

Our trip is over and it was a wonderful trip. We stayed for 2 weeks in Italy on a real Italian campsite were we had rented a very nice cottage in a very beautiful area about 20 miles from Venice. The first week the weather was great, warm but nice. The second week it became much warmer and the last few days it really became very hot about 106F man that was hot. I only stayed in the swimming pool which happily wasn’t far from our cottage.

Only Bo wasn’t very happy, it really was too warm for him; he refused to walk and was lying on the terrace of our cottage almost the entire day till sunset.

Traffic-jam on the German motorway...... Bo is just looking what's going on.....

Waiting for the traffic-jam to be over, for some people that lasted too long and so they left the highway by the grass area which was beside the motorway........

It lasted long.....heel very long before we could drive on…. So it turned pretty late before we finally arrived back home, it was really in the middle of the night, so I went to bed almost after we arrived.

This morning it turned almost 12 o’clock before I woke up and I hardly did anything today, the weather was pretty bad, it rained all day…. That’s so boring here, in the Netherlands. It’s late already so I go to bed, sleeping in my own bed….mmmmmmm…. more to come later on…bye…later!

Here I am standing at the stage and receiving my certificate. The teacher is making a joke about the fact that he thinks that I did my arithmetic tests much to fast….....

Yesterday evening we were at school the entire evening and it was one big party, it lasted till almost 11.00PM! At first we did our musical, which went really pretty cool! Afterwards we all got a lot of presents, a great certificate, a beautiful book and a beautiful pen and a book that they had made about the camping school week with a CD with all photos from the camping week.

Then it was all over and we all said farewell to the teachers…... that felt rather strange, not coming back here! But now there are the holidays and I will do only the things I like!

Ashlyn and Rosan’s party!

Just early in the evening....

Yesterday evening Ashlyn and Rosan gave a party at Ashlyn’s Aunt’s home in Haarlem. Ashlyn and Rosan both had their birthday a few months ago and didn’t celebrate that yet. For this reason yesterday they had organized a party together and also it was a farewell party because we all will leave school next week and after the holidays we all will go to different schools.

The garden of Ashlyn's aunt was turned over in a real party garden. Dad had arranged some party tents and had them set up with Ashlyn’s Dad the day before the party. The entire garden was roofed by these tents! Ashlyn’s mother and Rosan’s mother and Aunt Yvonne decorated everything with little lights and large pillows, seat cushion, fatboys and everywhere were bowls with candy.

After unwrapping all the present’s we were sent out in little groups to go out on a searching hunt through the city centre of Haarlem. When we returned at Aunt’s Yvonne’s home there was time to chill and there were lots of snacks and games to play like playing darts and a table football game.

At eleven o'clock we were all picked up by our parents to go home, it was a nice party….

My essay about the Olympic Games...

Yessss… here I am again..... I’m not at home quite a lot these days. Mom says all the time that I just come home for dinner…….. After school we all go and play outside all the time.

School is almost over the holidays are coming up. Yesterday I got my essay back from the teacher which I had to hand in last Monday….. ... What do you think? I got a 10 (A), cool eh?

Tomorrow we’re having our last lessons at school and we have to do our last arithmetic test. In the afternoon we are having the try out of our musical.

Monday we will go on our last school trip to the Linnaeushof and than Tuesday it will be the farewell day of the school with the musical and than it’s all over and the holidays will start......... yes!

Young Orange is the champion!

The team...

Yesterday evening I watched the soccer game between Orange and Serbia, (The Europian under 21 soccer championship) man what a beautiful game! Orange (they young Dutch team) played fabulous and they won the game by 4-1 and became the Europian Champion 2007!
This afternoon there was the honoring of the team in Heerenveen, man what did they open a lot of bottles champagne!

Here you can see they are spraying the champagne.... cool eh?

Dark clouds above our home……..

Tonight after dinner Mark and I and a couple of other kids from my class, planned to go to Mebar (festival week in our village) to see the singer Wolter Kroes on stage. But on our way to the village centre it suddenly became terribly dark and it started to rain, so we took a brake at the snack bar we just passed by and wait there till the weather would we something better.

That lasted pretty long, it didn’t stop raining. We never got to Mebar, but it was rather nice at the snack bar. Everyone had some money so we bought some pear ice creams and chewing gum balls!

Then it became pretty late so we all decided to go home and go through the bad rain. I was soaking wet when I got home and was cold all over!

We are reconnected to the rest of the world again…..

Yeah… . that was crazy for almost a week we had no Internet (the connection with the provider wasn’t working(?) No Blogging, couldn’t do anything at the computer, that was rather strange man! Monday afternoon suddenly we had no Internet.... But fortunately it’s working now so I can write on my blog again. Now I’ll have to go to school but tonight I’ll write again…. bye see you later!

Father’s day!

This is the head which I made for father’s day....

Monday morning at school we started making a father's day present. We had to make our father's head all from clay. In the head we had to make a hole in which we had to put cotton-wool with garden cress seeds.

Wednesday we already had to paint the head, but that was in fact too early. Almost everyone’s head started to crack because we painted it too early before it was completely dry, that was too bad!

Afterwards we stuffed the head with cotton-wool and had put the seeds in and water it very carefully. Well this morning when I gave Dad his present the seeds already had grown quite a lot, just watch the photo! Dad loved his present!

This afternoon we went to Grandpa Frans in Purmerend to bring him a father’s day present. And after that we went to Grandpa Ron to bring him a father’s day present.

Tomorrow it’s school again so I’ll go upstairs…bye…see you later!

After dinner I just went for a little ride on my bike….

So here I am again! I’ve not been at home very much this week. The weather was great these last few days so I’ve spend most of my time outside immediately after school. Did a bit of cycling or chatted with the others in or near the (our) tree.

School is almost over, just a couple of weeks more to go. At school we are rather busy rehearsing the final school musical and we don’t have much homework anymore.

This afternoon we have been to Amsterdam and there I’ve bought me a cool computer game, Fifa World Cup Germany 2006, so cool man!

This is such a cool game man! Go and play it for awhile now…..bye…see you later!

Sporting day!

Here we are doing a baseball game on the field just beside the school....

Today we had our yearly sporting day. In the morning we had a competition in which we played all sorts of sporting games with small teams. That went pretty good and my team and I made a lot of points.

In the afternoon we had a baseball competition, the only problem was that we had to wait so long before everyone played their game. That waiting was so boring….... but then suddenly mom came by with Bo! That was great so Mark and I played with Bo for awhile.

All quads on the trailer...

This weekend there was a speed & fun happy Wheels, American festival at Silverstone at the cart track parking area which is not far from our home. Yesterday I had been there already a couple of times to watch all the cars. Man there were cars, large ones so beautiful, so cool!

In our back yard you could hear the tires shrieking…

Tonight when we had a walk with Bo they were clearing everything and there were hardly any cars left, only a couple of quads on a trailer.

Summer party cancelled!

Summer party at the schoolyard of my school…..

This afternoon when school went out I stayed at the schoolyard just to help to get everything ready for the party, the party started at 04.00PM.

The party started rather nice, I won quite al lot of nice little prizes by doing the games at the different stands. I ate a few hamburgers, lots of popcorn and lots of candies! But then we suddenly heard that there was heavy weather on its way. In Amstelveen (a few miles from here) there was already one dead caused by the lightning and that there was a lot of rain and the streets were overflowed by the water..

Here it became already very dark….

At 6.15PM it already became pretty dark and there was from time to time already lightning. At 6.45PM they said that the party was called off and all the teachers started to pack all the things. Too bad the party would last up till 8.00PM!

Within 15 minutes most of the people left because it already started to rain. We just opened the door to our home and the heavy weather started. That was the end of the summer party 2007… too bad man!

The weekly paper...

Tonight when the weekly newspaper came I immediately saw that a photo of me was on the frontpage!

Last Saturday there was the early summer fair here in our village and there was a demonstration of the voluntary fire brigade. I was only for one minute on the square were the fire brigade was and there I saw Jan Verhoog the photographer of the weekly paper. I just said to Thomas from my class who was standing next to me… "Thomas, just stoop otherwise we will not be on the picture the photographer will take from the fire and then we won’t be in the next newspaper!" Well we succeeded! We’re almost in the middle of the photo, cool eh?

Last bowling league!

Tonight I finally got the bowling ball I ordered more than 1 ½ years ago.. . but it’s a cool one man!

Tonight it was the last bowling league of the season. After the game we all stayed for dinner at the Zoete Inval.

Here we all are at the table…....

Later on there was the distribution of the prices for the best bowlers of the season 2006/2007. Franka got 2 prices, one for the most increased bowler of the year (that was I last year) and one for the highest series of the new ones. That cup is beautiful man; it is a very large challenge-cup!

I haven’t won a price this year; no I am not the best player of the club and the fastest increased player cup I won last year, therefore..... But they have asked me to participate to the National League. Then you have to bowl every Sunday somewhere in the region with your team. Well, I said yes immediately, man that is so cool to participate in those leagues. So you have to play in all the bowling houses in this region (North part of the Netherlands) exciting!

To bad the bowling season is over already…... But I’ll have to play one more tournament next Saturday just right here in my own bowling club, that’s a very nice tournament!

Early summer fair in our village!

Fire brigade in our village.....

This morning we have been to the village centre because there was the yearly pre summer fair. All sorts of stands in which they sold al sorts of goods, also the fire brigade had an open day. On the big square in the village centre all fire brigade carages were there and there were also fire brigade men who showed how you have to extinguish a fire.

It was a nice fair, I also have bought a beautiful crystal with a soccer player in it (piece of glass in which they made a picture of a soccer player in it by a laser machine). I collect those crystal pieces I have about 14 pieces of them right now, they are so cool man!

Tonight we had meat from the barbecue for dinner. We also had asparagus with ham and eggs....mmmmm that is so delicious. These asparagus were extra nice they were given to Dad by someone from work who had bought them especially in Limburg those are the finest ones you can get they are so very delicious, really the best you can get……… mmmmmm!

Grandpa and Grandma have returned!

The donkeys in Mijas in Spain....

This afternoon after school we went to Grandpa and Grandma just to say hello. They returned home this afternoon from a short break in Spain. They have spent a week in south part of Spain in the village Mijas, the village where I had a donkey ride a few years ago. Those donkeys are so sad man; they have to ride up the hill all the time with all of those stupid tourists on their back.

Well there is not much to tell about last week, nothings exciting happened. Tuesday morning school has started again and everything went the same as the next day. Just making homework and playing outside after that. We had a lot of chats in the large tree on the field were the swings are quite near to our house with other children of my class.

Castle the Keukenhof.....

Today we have been with Piet and Marijke to the Keukenhof. There was a ceramic fair (Clay2Day) in the gardens of the Keukenhof.

Everywhere in the gardens of the castle were statues but the most I liked was the small rabbit which was running through the grass in front of the castle. It wasn’t at all frightened; even when I got nearer it remained sitting in the grass so I took some nice photos with my cell phone. If you look very carefully on the photo here above you can see the rabbit!

In the middle of the fair was a large tent in which was a large castle entirely made of clay. All the children could make a piece and curve in their name and stick it on the castle. You could also make another piece and sat that down near the castle. Well I’ve made a very beautiful bird. When I finished the bird I got another piece of clay and made a nice doggy which I could take home.

Ajax - AZ!

Ajax won the soccer game, it became 3-0!

Today I have been with Mark and his mother to Ajax - AZ in the Arena in Amsterdam. Man that was so cool!

Van Gaal no goblet, no scale, no ticket! (van Gaal is the AZ coach)

That was the song that everyone was singing after the game… . On the mini film which I’ve made with my cell phone you can hear Mark sing!

The first part of the game was mega bad, but in the 5th minute of second part of the game, Ajax went rather well and had a lot of chances to make a goal. In the 56^th minute it became 1-0 for Ajax, Heitinga scored the goal but in fact he was off-side but the arbiter did not see it. In the 57ste minute Ryan Donk from AZ scored in his own goa, so that was a point for Ajaxl!

Then everyone started to sing: Ryan Donk, we all know him, Ryan Donk, Ryan Donk, Ryan Donk he is a real Ajax man! (Everyone sang that song because he missed a penalty in the final of the KNVB goblet, Ajax - AZ and he therefore it looks like he is always helping Ajax to win the game!)
Eventually it became 3-0 for Ajax....

It really was a great game and a very great day... so cool to see the game live in the Arena in Amsterdam.

Tonight we had dinner in our garden….

Yesterday evening we returned home from our school camp. Man what was I tired! We did so many things, we had long walks, seen a lot and went to bed pretty late everyday. It was almost 02.00 AM and sometimes 02.30 AM before we went to sleep and we had to get up at 07.00 AM every morning.

Yesterday on the last day we have been to the Efteling. There were a couple kids from my class who were so tired that they took a nap on a bench in the park….

When I returned home I almost went to bed immediately and I did sleep up till 09.00 AM this morning, I had slept more than 13 hours! It was a great camp but very tiring...
At 10.30 AM we all had to be at school and in the afternoon we already watched the film that was made from our camping.

Tonight we had dinner outside in our garden, Mom had made very nice fried cuttle-fish with potato wafers and French fries and a nice salad.............. delicious!
After dinner we have been to the Luilak (lazy bones night celebration) flowers and plants market in Haarlem... Man we bought a lot of plants, so cool! I also got a from stone made rabbit from Mom to put in my little garden, so beautiful man!

But now I am already tired again and I’ll go to bed now..... see you tomorrow!

Farmers camping De Beukenhof in Well, Limburg (South part of the Netherlands)…...

Just one more night sleeping in my own bed and than we'll go on camping! We’ll go camping 4 days on a farmers camping with my entire class and the teachers and a couple of parents.... exciting man!

So I won’t be able to write on my blog for a couple of days, but when I'm back I’ll write all about it….. So, will be back in a couple of days….bye!

No drinking water from the tap!

E-coli bacteria…....

Since Tuesday evening it’s not possible to drink water from the water tap.

Tuesday morning they have found a bacterium in the drinking water from which you can get abdomen pain and diarrhea. They (the water company) do not know where that bacterium comes from and it can last up till Tuesday for all the water pippin’s will be clean.

Wednesday morning there were no more bottles of drinking water available in the hypermarkets here in our village. Wednesday evening I went to the village centre to see if there were new bottles of drinking water available and just when I cycled up the parking area there came a lorry with lots of bottles of water, so I bought 3 six-packs.
However, it’s rather odd when you're used to drink water from the tap and that isn’t possible right now, it’s just like you’re abroad, on vacation in your own country.....

Gouda!

The market square in Gouda.......

This afternoon we have been to Gouda, there was a ceramic fair where artists sold their own made ceramics. Man it was busy on that fair!

It was hardly possible to get to the ceramic stands to see what the artists were selling; so many people were passing the stands.

Here I am just making a bird from the clay I got…. ..

But it was nevertheless pretty nice, but the nicest of all was the stand were all the kids could make their own piece of art from the clay. I of course also had to make something, I made a couple of birds, that was very cool!

Here Dad and I are sitting on a bench, just having a nice bag of French fries…..

Were having those French fries over there because it wasn’t possible to get something to eat at the terraces on the market square; you could only get a drink over there. The cooks in the kitchens were too busy so it wasn’t possible to order something to eat, ridiculous!

After the fries Mom and I went into a sports shop, there was a big sale on and there was that Ajax soccer shirt on sale, $34,- cheaper than in our neighborhood, this is so cool man! Then all of a sudden Mom said that I could have it if I really wanted it so badly, man I was so happy about that!

It was a great day, at first I had a nice play with the clay and after that I got that Ajax soccer shirt!

Helllllllp.....

Computers are very handy apparatus…… if they work..... It’s more over a week now since we received our last email. The server to which we are connected too has crashed last week and we didn’t receive any email ever since.

What exactly is going on over there I don’t know but it is very annoying. So if anyone of you has sent me an email which I’ve not responded too this is the reason why I’m not responding. Hope it all will be fixed very soon….

Aunt Hanneke 50 years!

Me doing archery.....

This afternoon we did go to Broek op Langedijk to a large building where aunt Hanneke celebrated her 5oth birthday.

When we arrived there we immediately got tea of coffee with warm apple pie ….. mmmmm that really was delicious! Afterwards we went to an other room were we had a percussion lesson, playing all sorts of drums and afterwards we played archery.

After that we all went to the restaurant were we got a nice dinner.

Animal ambulance....

This afternoon I run into Jamy when I was playing outside. He just found an injured pigeon that couldn’t fly anymore, so sad man!

Then we went to an old neighbor of Jamy who knows very much about pigeons. Only that neighbor wasn’t at home, yeh….what to do with the pigeon? So we went to Jamy’s home and there we called the animal ambulance. That lasted long man before they came; we waited for more then 1 ½ hour before they finally came!

The Ms who examined the pigeon said that he probably wouldn’t make it, but they took the little pigeon along to see if they could save it.

Dim Sum...

Tonight we had Dim Sum for dinner. Mom went this morning with the neighbor to Chinatown in Beverwijk. There is a Chinese hypermarket and there they sell, about 50 different kinds of Dim Sum bites. So we had Dim Sum and Chinese noodles and we used Chinese Chopsticks, well that was very difficult to eat with, but the food was very delicious!

Tonight was the honoring of Ajax at the Museumplein in Amsterdam....

Today everything was back to normal the 2 weeks holidays are over. In about 2 weeks were going on a school camp in Limburg (south part of the Netherlands), so cool man!

This was yesterday in Rotterdam....

Tonight after the bowling I watched the honoring of Ajax, they yesterday won the KNVB Final from AZ. Man what a crowd there was at that square in Amsterdam!

Liberation Day!

Today it was Liberation Day. Well there was nothing to see here in our village that looked like Liberation Day. Everywhere in the country there were Liberation Day celebrations with music and more but not over here.

This afternoon I went cycling on my new bike with Grandpa. We have made a nice trip to the village centre and to the Bottelierspad (a nice cycling path a few miles from here), man it went great on my new bike. We have cycled more than 4 ½ miles!

Lay down flowers in our village!

The flower piece Mom and I made this afternoon for the the Remembrance of the Dead ceremonies in our village tonight which we laid down at the monument….....

Tonight at half passed 7 we have driven to the village centre of our village for the Remembrance of the Dead at 8:00PM . When we arrived there it still was rather quiet, but within a couple minutes it all of a sudden became very busy. There was small orchestra of 2 girls and 2 boys and 1 boy who played The Last Post on his trumpet.

After the 2 minutes of silence a wreath of flowers was laid down by a man from the municipality house and there was a speech after that. Then everyone could lay down his flowers and I also laid down my piece of flowers.

At the end the orchestra played the National Song “Het Wilhelmus” and everyone sang along. It was very beautiful all those people singing.

Here everyone already went home….

Central station in Amsterdam........

Today Mom and I have been to Artis just to have a look at our favorite aninmals. We saw them all, Yindee the little elephant, the little giraffe’s and the sea lions.

Yindee the elephant was playing with her bottom right to all the people. That didn’t give nice photos! The little giraffes were also outside; there was one who took a look around the big fence all the time.

Sweet eh?

It was very crowded in Artis, very very busy, but oh so nice!

Queen’s day 2007!

Small boats in the Prinsengracht....

This morning we went to the queen’s free market in the centre of our village.

After that we went with Grandpa, Ruud and Kim and Roy to Amsterdam. Man what a crowd, there were so many people, but it was very nice! Of course there was the free market but there also was a lot of music made by DJ’s and live musicians and there were lots of small boats with people who sailed through all the canals.

Here we had our first drink at cafe the Lelie in the Jordaan (centre of Amsterdam), which we always visit at first when we arrive in the Amsterdam’s Jordaan.

You first have to buy a glass in that area for $2,75 and then you can order a drink. Mom had been very smart and had taken along the glasses of last years Queen’s day and they just filled them up as if we had bought them just a while ago, happily the glasses were still exact the same glasses they sold last year. Well so we saved this year $19,--, quite smart eh?

Afterwards we walked through the entire Jordaan and it was great, so many things and people to see.

At the Westerstraat there is a café, were they put every year at Queen’s day on the façade a very big poster. This year it was a poster of Prince Willem Alexander and his 3 little daughters, Daddy Cool! So great to see man!

Also dog Sindy was there again at the Swan choir in the Jordaan. That dog is lying there every year on the same chair just to get much hugs for $0,27.

It was very nice in Amsterdam, it all was one very grand festival with only happy people, who were smiling, laughing and singing and dancing. Man, Queen’s day is a beautiful festival in Amsterdam! That type of festivals must be there much more than only ones a year, there never is a quarrel, no fights, just everybody is partying and everybody is happy, that is so cool man!

New bike!

Waaauuuuwww...... Isn’t it cool?

Yesterday I have got a new bicycle! Yes, I have to cycle 7 miles to my new school in august and that isn’t possible to do on my old bike. Man it is such a cool bike, it’s so complete. I’m so very happy with it.

Yesterday I’ve already cycled through our entire neighborhood. The little computer on the bike says I’ve driven already 10 miles! Soooo..... cool!

Bo in front of the boat....

Yessss…we’re back again….the holidays are over! We have been to the forest in Limburg (south part of the Netherlands) for a few days. Man the weather was really beautiful; it was very, very hot! Every day it was about 83F, sometimes it really was too hot to do anything.

Tuesday we rented a water pedal boat, so cool man just cycling throw all those little canals in the area where we were staying in. Bo was sitting in front of the boat and watched everything as if he was the captain of the boat, he loved it all! Only sometimes we came across some little ducks or a dog at the shore, well he started to bark at all of them.

Then it already was very hot, there was no wind at all, just look at the water.....

We did quite a lot this vacation! Took quite long walks with Bo, saw quite some cities in the neighborhood, Roermond and much more, one evening we went bowling and yesterday I participated in a bowling game. It really went fabulous and I won the first price a beautiful trophy!

We also saw many asparagus fields on our tour. Secretly have I picked a few asparagus from the fields, I could not leave there without picking some of them, there were so many of them just sticking out of the ground.

Bo had a dog friend over there, a pretty large dog that just lived in the house beside our house, he was called Pim. Bo and Pim played together every day and then they were tired, it was too hot for them as well…

Flower parade in Haarlem!

Gedempte Oude gracht in Haarlem (famous street in Haarlem city center)....

This afternoon we have been to Haarlem, there was the flower parade. Man that was beautiful! All carriages made of flowers.

It really was great in Haarlem today!

Walking back to the car….

This afternoon we went to the Green Luxuriance again and played with Bo for quite some time… Throwing the ball and have a good run….. Bo loved it! Only just when Mom started to make a video Bo lost the ball 2 times on his way back and came across some other things he liked…. But we all had great fun, man what was that dog tired afterwards.

Tonight we have been to the fun fair in our village for the last time. Well I did win again a lot of points with that coin machine. Together with the points I already collected a few days ago I had won 16,000 points in total, I did exchange the points for a beautiful alarm clock, cool thing man!

When it got entirely dark, there was the fire works show, which always is on the last evening of the fun fair. Well it really was quite pitiful, just a couple of splashes and a couple bangs and that was it. No, then you must experience the fire works in Spain, which is just so cool man! If they let off fire works there it really is smashing, after half an hour the entire neighborhood is filled with smoke, and the ground is shaking by the bangs, so cool!

Well it turned out pretty late now so I’ll go to bed now…see you tomorrow, bye!

Fun fair in the village!

This afternoon after doing my homework I went to the village centre by bicycle because there is the fun fair at the soccer area. Well that was cool man! I went with Luke a couple of times in the bumper cars and a man gave me a few coins for coin machine. When I did those coins in the machine immediately came out a 500 points sheet, so cool man!

Tonight after dinner we all have been to the fun fair. Mark was also there and with him I have been in the break dance, see the photograph here above and the small film under it. If you look very well (impossible to see!) you can see at 00.07 seconds Mark and me in the middle of the screen, but only if you look verrrrrry well!

We also played at the coin machine to throw in some coins. I obtained eventually 6500 points from the machine, not bad eh? I keep my points up to Saturday, then we perhaps go again to the fun fair and if I win more points than I can exchange them for a larger price, yes clever eh?

Man it was so cool at the fun fair, I can’t wait to go again…… go to bed now... bye….. see you tomorrow!

Big rubbish heap!

Bo is looking for the ball….

Sunday afternoon we have all cleared the barn and then we had a very big rubbish heap! Tomorrow the municipal dust-removal lorry will pick everything up and for this reason Dad and I have just put all the rubbish outside at the parking area quite near our house.

Bo liked the enormous heap of old things but he hated to see that the old soccer ball was in there as well. Bo escaped from our garden a few times and went to the heap of old things and removed the soccer ball from the heap every time and played with it as if we would not notice him.

Just a few minutes ago when I let him out, just see the photo, he again was busy trying to get the ball out! He is so crazy about balls, it doesn’t matter if it is a tennis ball or a soccer ball he loves all the balls, whole or all to pieces, it doesn’t matter him at all. A ball is just so cool eh Bo?

It was hot today!

It is already dark and Bo is looking for Timmie... but he is already back in his hutch….

Today it was even warmer then yesterday. It really was hot, the thermometer in the garden said it was 82 F in the shade! In the sun it was bloody hot.

This afternoon I went with Dad to the Praxis to buy a couple of wooden laths and then we heard on the radio that the marathon in Rotterdam was suspended! That all because it was too hot there became so many people sick of the heat and had to go to the hospital. Man that heat on the 15^th of April! And its not even summer jet!

Here is someone who became very sick by the heat at the marathon of Rotterdam.......

Tonight we had dinner outside again, it still was pretty warm. It becomes already dark and still is it hot.....

Counting cars, cyclists and pedestrians near our school.... (also Bo went along!)

This morning Mark and I had to do an assignment for school at 8.45. We had to count all the cars, cyclists and pedestrians just near our school. It was just an arithmetic assignment. Man it was busy out there! We had a very full list!

Today it was pretty warm. I played outside all afternoon and this evening we had dinner outside in our garden and it still is rather warm.

Tonight was the first time this year we had dinner outside in our garden. Dad had obtained a very nice meal from the Chinese here in our village! Mmmm..... Koe Lo Kai and Babi Pangang with Chinese noodles, which is ever so delicious!

The musical.......

Today at school we have been practicing the final school musical again. We still have quite a lot to do but it is very cool to do. I don’t have to learn a lot of text but I have to say short sentences very frequently. Fortunately we still have enough time to learn everything.

Difficult TOPO!

The Middle and North of America....

Yesterday we had a very difficult TOPO at school. North America wasn’t that difficult, but the middle of America was pretty hard to do! Nicaragua, Guatemala, Appalachen, Monterrey and Costa Rica....ppphhhhfff...

Mom kept saying that there is a Monterrey in California as well, somewhere near to San Francisco, but that one did not participate... too bad eh Mom?

I have studied the entire weekend just to get it into my head, even yesterday morning before school started I studied hard. Fortunately it was all worth it…. I got a 10!

Bo and the tennis-ball....

Today I went back to school, the holidays were over. It was a very ordinary day.

Played outside after school, just a little game of soccer. Also Bo was outside in the garden, he played with his tennis-ball. Man he demolished it in such a sort time, however it’s so great to watch him when he is doing that! The only problem is that we’re running out of tennis-balls now…. still we’ve 2 more to go….

Easter fair!

Outside 2007....

This afternoon we have been to the Easter Fair at the Floriade area (Floriade is an international exhibition of flowers and gardening, held every 10 years in The Netherlands).

In that area there still is the enormous roof of the Floriade and under that roof there was quite a lot to see. In and outside furniture, garden things, lawn-mowers and much, much more....

You could eat and have a drink everywhere….

Here you can see well that it is only a roof and you could just walk outside.

This afternoon we have been to the children's farm with Bo. Bo didn’t know what to think about those big animals, they were so big! There also were a lot of baby goats in the children’s farm, they were so sweet man!

One chocolate Easter bunny to the other…

Today we had the Easter celebration at school and we watch the Jesus Christ superstar musical on DVD. Man that lasted long! We started watching the musical before the Easter lunch and after the lunch the second part, ppppffffhhh.....

Mom loves the Jesus Christ musical, she saw the real musical in London when she was a kid. Now she has a Canadian version on DVD of Jesus Christ superstar and she really is wild about it. Well, I don’t like it, only singing all the time so boring man!

Project evening at school!

My class room with everything concerning trees.....

Tonight there was the end of project evening at school and so all the parents could see in our classroom what we have made these last few weeks at school and the project was all about trees. In front of our classroom there we all together made a big tree, rather nice eh? The tree is standing in some sort of tray we made of bricks which came from our garden. The first thing Dad said when he saw it was, Oh… I’ll get those bricks back by tomorrow, well I’m very happy about that…..

Tomorrow we all have to clear everything up in our classroom. And than we're having a nice Easter lunch at school and after that it will be the Easter holidays….

Lecture!

My essay about computers from which I made my lecture….

This afternoon I did my lecture at school and it went pretty nice. Many children gave me 9 and a couple of them even gave me 9 1/2!

To bad the teacher said my lecture was too long. She had warned me yesterday that if I would make the lecture too long she would give me punishment points which would lessen my final mark. Yes... one day in advance she told me that. Yesterday I had it all entirely ready and I could not change it anymore in such a sort term and I had been working on it for so long! Well the teacher gave me an 8 1/2.

Another time there were children before me who had lectures for almost half an hour and they got a 9. Well I think it’s stupid!

Bo had to look at all of those cases with things I’ve put ready for tomorrows lecture…………..

Tomorrow I’ll have to do my lecture about computers and for this reason I practiced my lecture this afternoon for the last time. Well it went rather good!

However, it was so cool to collect all of that stuff with Dad. A lot of things came from Dad’s work. There was that man who had so many computer stuff. I have got a few very old hard disks, a zip-drive, an old internet card and a very old modem and lots of other stuff! So cool that I can show so many things during my lecture!

New room!

My new desk which I got from my school…..

Yesterday we have been busy all day in my room. Friday I got a new desk from my school (see Friday’s post) and then I have got a couple of new bookcases from Mom and Dad to make it all complete. Man my room has become so beautiful with all those new furniture! I’m so glad with it al. So I’ve got an entire new room now and that in just one day, that’s cool eh?

He seems indeed a bit like Bo, only I hope that Dad will not drive that fast as the owner of that doggie, when Bo comes along in the car. My new saxophone...

This afternoon at my music lessons I got my saxophone. It’s beautiful man! Playing it is so great! It only was a bit strange to play because a saxophone has a straw to blow in that is quite different from the trumpet. But I love it, it’s so cool man!

The teacher has showed me entirely how I must clean the saxophone every time when I played it. Than there is a small piece of leather on a string that I’ve to pull through the whole saxophone a couple of times. I only have to buy myself the little straws for the mouth piece but that is not very expensive the teacher said, only they break, however, fast.

To day at school was my lucky day. This afternoon we had to help the teacher by getting some new desks from the lorry and get them into the school. The school ordered 21 new desks but the people from the factory delivered 32 desks, much too much and the people who brought them didn’t want to take them back to de factory. Then the teacher asked if one of us just wanted one of those desks. I told the teacher that I directly could call my Mom and ask her if it was oke, something like that I can’t let that pass a way. Mom approved and so I had a beautiful new desk. Also Mark succeeded in getting one. Mark’s father came by and picked us up and brought my desk to our house and now it’s standing in my room, so cool man! I’m so very glad with it!

A beautiful sweat jacket eh?

Yesterday there was an advertisement in the newspaper from the sport shop here in our village. In that ad was a very cool sweat jacket from the brand Russell on sale from $105,- for $ 26,-.

Tonight after dinner we went to the shop just to see what the offer was. They were cool man! I have bought 2 of them, a red one and a dark blue one. Here above at the photo I’m wearing on, cool he?

Bo is tired, so very tired........

Today the weather was splendid and so Bo played outside in the garden the entire day. Man he was so busy!

This afternoon when I came home from school Bo was already running in the garden. Later on this afternoon I played soccer at the square in front of our home and also Bo came along.

Tonight when we had dinner, Bo immediately fell asleep on the sofa. It just turned 8.30PM but he is still asleep… Man, playing outside is a hard job….

History paper for tomorrow….

This afternoon, after a little game with Bo of course, I started to do my homework. Tomorrow we are having a history test concerning World War 2.

When did Germany invade the Netherlands?
When did Hitler get a thorough grasp?
When was February strike?
When did the NSB arise and by who?

And much more questions we all have to know by tomorrow…...... Is there someone out there who knows the answer to these questions?

School musical!

Cd with on it the songs of the farewell musical.....

Today at school we got the CD with all the songs on it for the farewell musical.

All those songs we have to learn and there are many of them, very, very many songs to learn, 25 numbers! The musical is called Take Off and is all about an airport. Well that means a lot of studying to do! But fortunately we have enough time to learn them all, the musical will be in the last school week and that is in July.

This afternoon I immediately have put all of those numbers on my iPod this way can I learn them much easier.

My iPod!

The iPod nano....

Yesterday morning we went out of bed pretty early because there was at the V&D a prices circus (a very big sale). There they had a very beautiful offer of the iPod nano which I wanted so badly for so long.

At 7.55AM yesterday morning we were standing in front op de doors of the V&D and when the doors were opened we immediately went to the department were they sold the iPods. Man there already was a very big line of people who also wanted the iPod. We were in that line for more over than 30 minutes before we were served at the counter. But fortunately they still had one iPod for me left….

Man it really is such a cool thing! But the nicest thing is that you can put so much music on it. That is what Mark and I did this afternoon, putting the music on it. It is an expensive thing and I had to save my money for months but now I’ve got it and it’s so very, very cool!
